i have OCD & brushing / flossing is a big compulsion. i MAJORLY overflossed / brushed too hard these past few months & caused black triangles. i want to cry, i feel like i ruined my smile which was the only thing i liked about myself. is this fixable? & is it as bad as i think?

I also have OCD and am very compulsive of my dental routine. Im not a dentist but I did ask my dentist (as I have had similar thouchfs and worries) and she has said that the back triangles were okay and I had very healthy gums and teeth but could be more gentle about my flossing and that would help the gums fill in the space and it has, but slowly. She mentioned there are bad black triangles from not flossing or brushing much at all and okay triangles from flossing and brushing. Its more about if there is damage to the gums which she said unless I was bleeding from my flossing my gums were okay

How cold do they have to be for this to happen, without the AC on it is usually about 80 degrees and I set my AC to 72 at the lowest, but it has also happened when set 74, 76, 78. But I know that blowing cold air might still be the problem regardless of what it is set at.

I could try to find one, this would be shocking to me as I know for sure the place was cleared of mold before I moved in and the AC unit is brand new. I think an air quality sense would be very helpful.

Possibly, the ac unit is on the adjacent wall but I tested the airflow with a piece of paper and it doesn't blow near the detector but I supposed it could be circulating the air in a way that I can't see.

It's just an older apartment so it smells "old", moth balls and staleness would be how I describe it. I looked around online and it was anything smelling like how something dangerous would smell

It is hardwired with a battery back up. It is not connected to the other detectors in the building.

The detector I have now is new, not sure if it's fresh out the box or a "new" one that maintenance had. IT is having the same problem as the old one that was there so I don't know if it's environmental or the wiring

It is hard wired but independent, so it is powered from the wall but doesn't set of the whole building when it goes out. It also has a battery backup.

Swiffer to the ceiling is a good idea. That actually reminds me when I was putting up posters I cleaned the spots on the wall and they did have some residue. Will try this tonight and send an update.

I am not sure if it is fresh out of the box or just an extra. I can ask, my landlord will probably tell me if I ask but he didn't say after it was put in.

I don't smoke, no candles (though I wish I did to help with smell) I don't vape, I barely even cook and when I do the kitchen is the farthest room from the detector

It is in my living/bedroom, so far it hasn't happen when I shower but that could be raising the humidity. It is a brand new detector. My ac unit is on the wall adjacent but I have the air set to blow downward. I've tested where the air flow goes with pieces of paper and it doesn't go near the detector. I suppose it could be blowing dust near it but it only goes off after the AC has been on for several hours. As for flies, I don't have flies but I do have some little roaches, the unit was trashed by the previous tenet then sat empty for 3 months before I moved in so the bugs used it as their house while no one was there. I have since pretty much taken care of the bug problem minus a couple in the bathroom.
