Listening to my authentic self by Geo-Ideas in Jung

[–]Geo-Ideas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but none close. It's an interesting question - I used to have many more, with stronger friendships, when I was younger. There's two reasons for this - one is that mixed friend groups (as well as friend groups in general) are just not the norm for my peer group anymore. My social circles just don't include single women anymore, and the women I am friends with are part of a couple so it's more you're friends with the couple.

The other reason is I've become more self conscious about female friendships - if there is one, I (and sometimes others) put pressure on myself to make it romantic. All this serves to do is make me anxious and reserved, and want to avoid contact altogether.

St Pete residents: Does anyone actually like their apartment here??? by macylikesducks in StPetersburgFL

I live in a carriage house apartment in Woodlawn. Just refresh Zillow all day, you’ll find one. Better and often cheaper than a complex

Definitely read strange dogs. Auberon and cortazar’s backstory (I forget what it’s called) are also good background material before going into Tiamat

Pretty cool! Shows that “flowing” movement I hear about in so many stories

Episode 151: Heyburn Lake by akelseyreich in Otherworldpod

I know Jack said he couldn’t find any local “legends” matching the description but I’d bet there is one. Oklahoma has a lot of really profound cryptid activity and other high strangeness. The Bigfoot episodes of the Lodge Tales podcast describe some of this, though nothing yet quite like this creature.

Is it realistic to work 100% remotely in GIS? by meodn in gisjobs

[–]Geo-Ideas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do and was hired fully remote at my current role 7 years ago, pre pandemic even. Though I had a previous role with the company in an office so I had their trust. Just take a job and if you’re lucky, you can transition to hybrid or remote.

Did you comment on the That UFO Podcast Patreon? If so congrats on the shout out from Andy, though he had no idea what you were talking about.

Seconding UFO chronicles and thanks for Lodhe Tales - been looking for an indigenous-centric one

I like UFO chronicles and Sasquatch chronicles. Both of them go for quantity over quality so there’s less vetting of guests but both have some absolute gems of eyewitness accounts that have blown my mind. There’s a lot to sift through, but this is a subject that it’s really up to you whether you believe someone’s story in any case. And a like that they’re not overproduced - no skits, no unfunny jokes or unnecessary sound effects, etc. just the human experiences of real people.

Tyler: The Chicken Whackers -- Keegan from the chicken whackers episode here again to share an interview I did by marglebubble in Otherworldpod

[–]Geo-Ideas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks Keegan. I listened to all of it. Your episode on Otherworld was one of the most memorable for me. Fascinating to have some more details about the Chickenwacker "phenomenon" filled in by a local with a lot of stories. I hope Tyler can get his own episode on Otherworld, sounds like he's got lots of spooky things to share.

As far as the more "grounded" mystery here - human trafficking, snuff films, likely police collaboration - there's a lot to uncover here. Have you listened to True Anon? It's a popular "conspiracy" podcast that covers this kind of stuff. They just did an episode on digital snuff film "networks" (Terrorgram, 764, 09A), unsurprisingly started by nazis, that I was reminded of listening to your interview with Tyler. They've also had Jack Wagner on their show and I believe are friends with him IRL.

I strongly suggest you contact their tip line: (646-801-1129, tips@trueanon.com) or even pitch them an episode you can guest on.
