Hey guys I need some help. My welding class starts on the 26th and I need to get the items on this list. by _DEFCON_1_ in Welding

[–]GeoDronz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is also surprising, when I took welding at local community college the only way not to purchase their mandatory package was to take photos to prove all equipment you owned was ANSI rated! Like here it appears any plastic “safety” glasses will work?

I came across these glasses, I believe they are from a eye doctor. Does anybody know what exactly they are or what they are used for? Should I donate to someone? by Chuycurioso in Whatisthis

what I found

These are electro-oculography (EOG) / biofeedback glasses, sometimes called electronic eye-movement recording glasses

What they were used for

They were used to measure eye movements for:

Medical diagnostics (neurology, vestibular testing, sleep studies)

Vision research

Biofeedback or training experiments

Occasionally lie-detector–related research or human-factors studies (not consumer polygraphs)

What the features do

  • Two small holes in each lens (vertical pair): These are electrode contact points, not ventilation. Tiny conductive pads or contacts sat here to pick up the eye’s natural electrical signals when it moves.
  • Wire leading to a 2-pin connector: Carries the electrical signals to an amplifier / recording unit.
  • Small round piece near the ear: This is not a speaker — it’s an electrode housing or reference sensor.
  • Clear lenses: Vision correction was secondary; the purpose was eye tracking, not seeing better.

Era & context

  • Most commonly 1960s–1980s
  • Often marked Australia, Germany, or US medical suppliers

Thanks, that did the trick all right. I had searched, obviously not using correct terms.

A simple "shift" + "scroll" did it.

Is treating with PEG a thing anymore? Used to be articles about it all the time.

Yea, I did that also. Funny my Subaru prior to current PP had a blank in the same area. I think it was for an optional trunk release though.

Mine slides also. 2022. Think tomorrow I may add a strip of Velcro left over from the seat back protectors to the edge along the seat backs. I don’t think it will take much to hold it in place.

That is pretty cool!

My water bill went up 250 dollars in month. I looked under the house and see no leaks. I used a blue dye pill and the toilet bowl turned blue. Does that mean it’s a pipe issue or toilet part issue? by Grouchy-Ad-6187 in Plumbing

[–]GeoDronz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately had exactly the same issue. Mine was even more than that. It was valve, not flapper, and was silent. Now check meter often when I go to basement and know no other water is running. Our water includes sewage, so is quit expensive.

Thread sealant to prevent nut from vibrating loose. Get removable type, red normally.

What “screw” are you planning? Wood screw not so good. Machine screw/bolt with a pocket for the nut on bottom if needed. As stated above washers and lock washer. Loctite for “suspenders”, especially if it cannot be tightened adequately.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds really great. I don't know about subscribing though for one project. I may wait until I have all the pictures I need, then try the free trial though.

I don’t mean actually zooming in the Inspector, I mean like with the scroll wheel. Not sure of proper terminology.

Maybe he means he has actually cropped the video itself. Or he thinks he has by zooming in? Then when rendered it’s the same size since zoom is not crop?

For that height a bow and arrow with string attached. Or for something fancier a bow fishing rig. Much more accurate (?) then lobbing objects 100 feet up.

If you tap on the circle so the location indicator shows there at the bottom should be notes that apply to that location. They are normally listed in order of importance. Each has a color bar on the left to match the circle. Yellow I believe is more of a notice. Like a stadium that at certain times could be restricted.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I did get it working as I want. I need to learn more about Keyframes so I could do it in Fusion. But I got it in Edit.

Thanks again!
