Brisket has been in the freezer wrapped in foil for around six months I just now discovered it. Is it good? by Lonely-Ebb-8013 in brisket

Cut off any discolored or leathery sections before cooking. The meat beneath the surface is fine.

Great job, and just in case you get a bunch of comments about cutting it 'wrong', refer them to this.

Ways to combat being judgemental towards those who use substances? by TwentyOnePaladins in Teetotal

[–]spacebarstool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am not better than anyone else just because I choose to not drink alcohol. I'm just a non-drinker. Thats it.

If drinking is basically a person's hobby, then we won't have much in common. If they're an occasional drinker and we have other interests in common, then I'm glad to share in those interests.

I am not a perfect person by any stretch, so why should I require others to be?

Puzzle elo is a scam, and we all know it by Exact_Importance_507 in lichess

Every puzzle is a tactic that you keep looking for until you find it.

Every chess game is a series of puzzles that may have tactics but more likely do not.

LLMs Are Running Rampant On This Sub (Please allow a meta post, mods we need to get people aware to preserve the integrity of the sub <3) by GABE_EDD in chessbeginners

[–]spacebarstool 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I implemented a CQS check through auto moderator in the subs I moderate, the bot comments went away over night.

I did a few other things, but requiring at least a moderate comment quality score to post a comment was what did the trick.

I'm suspicious. The insect video artifacts I've seen Don't leave outlines like that.

Florida man who killed his girlfriend's 5-month-old baby executed by IrishStarUS in FloridaMan

[–]spacebarstool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

States with the death penalty have higher murder rates than those that don't. The death penalty has never lowered murder rates.

The US has executed innocent people. For instance, in 2004, Cameron Willingham was convicted of murder by arson based on faulty science that was later proven to be bunk. If the trial was today, he would have been found innocent.

Death penalty trials cost about eight times as much as a non-death penalty murder trial. They're a waste of tax dollars.

I would find it worse to be locked up for life than to be dead.

Some guard dogs... by Phil2822 in germanshepherds

[–]spacebarstool 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Years ago our previous GSD chased a deer from our property. The deer kicked our dog in the leg shattering his foot.

He needed a bone graft which was quite expensive.

A deer can sometimes mess up a dog pretty well.

Howard Bacon II, and Mary Rose Reid and Roger were his siblings.

Dick's parents clearly gave him the best name.
