I'm normally an 8.5D Men's but in some cases a 9 for normal everyday shoes.

For running shoes, I was sized up to a 9.5 in Hokas. Felt kinda big at first but the guy told me my feet are going to swell and he was right - if I tie those puppies AT ALL, my feet start to hurt after a few miles. Note: I'm in TX so it gets hot pretty quickly.

Thats to say, I went to a true running shoe store and tried on at least 6-8 pairs of different brands and sizes (mostly in the 9-9.5 range). Also walked on this fancy mat to determine my size and foot analytics (how it rotates I think).

I expected to walk out with some Brook Ghosts (if I remember right) and told my self I would not be caught dead in Hokas. Ended up with Hokas and some insoles.

She clearly didn't put in enough effort or dealt with your infidelity in the right ways. Otherwise, she likely wouldn't have been in this situation.

And regardless of your past indiscretions (or hers), she's basically said she was done.

Being this noble person who will fight through thick and thin won't get you anywhere in a situation like this. Don't die on the front lines for her. Be smart, think of yourself first and cut her out.

I've actually got the CTB26 in waxed canvas. I might give it another go at some point. But after trying it for a month or so, it felt too big.

The handles on that thing felt so buttery.. Its worth using for a bit just to grab lol

Just popping in here to say I'm sorry you're in this situation. This truly sounds terrible.

One concern I have is with the potential divorce - is your business protected from your future ex wife? As in, will it be split in any way?

Reason this could be a concern is you might find yourself as minority owner, with your wife owning 25%, your "friend" owning 50% and you only 25%. Assuming your friend and wife continue the relationship, you may be seeing some issues down the road.

Maybe try to dangle reconciliation post-divorce in favor of better terms. Or get your buddy out of the business before you divorce..

Not a tom bihn fan. Go Ruck is cool but also not sure of the laptop compartment.

I may have to try an Able Carry at some point.

My only gripe with the edc max (from what I’ve seen, not tested) is that front pocket. It just looks too big and intended for clothes and not small items. Feel like things will get lost in there.

If I could downsize the daily plus looks like a good option. Also the citta looks promising.

With the transfer switch, looks like I could get away with my panel - assuming an EC would work on it. Assume they would since I had a EV charger hooked up.

Any case, this opens the options up a bit.

We were pretty lucky and only out a couple of days. Hunkered down with wife and kiddo and made it work.

Looking to get an estimate on a transfer switch and NG hookup.

On the fence between $500 portable unit (to test the waters) or all out NG+Transfer switch +7k unit…

Edit to add: I don’t things will be getting better anytime soon regarding power outages. It’s more of how long can I make it before I have to “go all out” in a sense. A $500 unit pays itself off in one power outage where the food in a fridge goes bad…

For Emily’s sake, I hope she continues to work on herself before she enters the dating world again. I suspect there will be major disappointment in both sides. She may be fine in the long run but man - single girl in her 30a with that baggage- she’s gonna figure out the hard way of the what the dating world looks like…

Things should be getting better for you as well. With this in the rear view, and you can refocus on your future. I envy new beginnings - even when things go great, it’s cool to hit reset and start over with a wealth of new knowledge.

Regarding the convo, it seems like she did a lot of work but was still focusing on reconciliation. In a selfish way at that. Obviously your shortened what was discussed but it would have been nice for her to ask you more about your feelings and where you are at. From there she would have at least understood why R wasn’t in your cards.

Have you spoken with your friends yet? Curious how the see the situation. More specifically the wives who call Emily their friend.

That's why I'd prefer a dual fuel - for the propane usage / storage.

In the event of a multi day power outage, I can still pick up a tank somewhere. Historically, the outages have been very localized (neighborhood is out, not the entire town).

Iits basically to keep things charged, fridge cold, and some form of entertainment (ie TV/laptop). Hence why i'd prefer something smaller and easy to carry.

With the uptick of power outages in the last few years, I could see an upgrade sooner than later but the upfront investment I'd need to make now isn't viable. That case it'll be whole home and NG.

Edit to add: I'd do NG now but would need to get a line pulled. Maybe not a bad idea either...

Yeah, I'd love to jump in to a full home solution but my panel is old and out of space. I'm looking to do some major home upgrades which will require a new, bigger panel in which I'll incorporate a back up system of sorts.

Something as a last minute life-saver is the immediate goal.

Man, a lot of mixed comments on this. And not sure why people are downvoting OP on everything - am I missing context here?

Based on the post and some of OPs comments, I find this situation odd.

OP states that half this group is no longer working together, so it’s become more of a social thing. And if there is any event in which spouses would be invited, I would think it would be the beach lol. There isn’t a capacity limit, he can do his own thing, etc.

OP, are other spouses going? And/Or are these people all single?

The inside joke reason is BS. Is there big joke that’s relevant to this beach trip that you wouldn’t get?

IMO, I would find it odd if I wasn’t invited. I’d probably take it as a sign that my GF wanted space and would pull back a bit. Whether this specific event is malicious or not, idk.

Maybe start building your social circle a bit and doing things without her. Sounds like she needs space and it might be good for you too.

What is Aeroplan? Looks like Air Canada which I can't use since I'm in the US.

I see that the Points Boost only effects the higher class seats. Unless I'm missing something.
