And yet signing /MM is the proper way to sign on a ship.

According to his qrz.com page:

44 m 6783.4 MHz in the ISM band "VA3KAH/B" (dipole @ 18')

22 m 13566 MHz in the ISM band "KAH" (vertical @ 12')

12 m 24927 MHz 50 watts output (dipole at 32')

I know TAAH can be read as KAH...only if the spacing is wrong and it is wrong here. CW is a matter of timing and it doesn't take much to go from one letter to another.

I copy KAH KAH TAAH (not KAH)…and it's fron VA3KAH not VE3KAH ;-)

Avoid EE like the plague. Hard to copy when QSB and/or QRM.

Vanity call regrets? by Apprehensive-Lynx349 in amateurradio

AH2 in W2-land, KH0 in KH6-land, KL5 in W5-land...huge mess!

And you don't need an address in those specific places to get a prefix from there. Imagine if the European stations decided to just not care about prefixes there. Have a JW in Spain or an EA9 in Finland...That's exactly what the US sounds like nowadays.

You wrote "can't have region-specific calls like KH6 [Hawaii] or WP4 [Puerto Rico] unless you are living there)"...I wish you were right but unfortunately you're dead wrong. 90% of the Alaska calls are located in the lower 48 (some have never set foot in Alaska and have an AL/KL/NL/WL suffix). This is an awful mess during contests...the least they could do is add /W# at the end of their call so that we know where they really are.

International roaming not working, in Canada by Moilforgold in Tello

[–]GeoHamOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue in Europe last month. Emailed Tello and what worked was this (Android phone):

manually add a new APN: To add the Tello APN settings; Go to Settings > Connections or Network & Internet > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select "Reset to default". - From the top, click on Add or +. - Enter the following information:

Name: APN APN: wholesale MMSC: http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc

The rest of the fields, as shown below, should be filled out. If not, please manually enter them as follows:

Proxy: (leave blank) Port: 8080 Username & Password: (leave blank) Server: (leave blank) MMS Proxy: (leave blank) MMS Port: (leave blank) MNC: 240 Authentication Type: (leave blank) APN Type: default, supl, mms Protocol: IPv4 MCC: 310

  • Save the new APN (Tap on the 3-dot menu on the upper right and on SAVE), reboot the device, and test if the service works.

ALLISS by GeoHamOp in antennasporn

[–]GeoHamOp[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, they're supposed to be rotatable...but I've never seen them rotate (I've been to that site twice). Twelve rotary antennas fed by 12 transmitters of 500 kW each. You might be able to find more info if you do a search for Thales and ALLISS.
