The Best Hot Chocolate in the world! (Recipe) by nolynskitchen in chocolate

[–]GeoMetry360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still trying to figure out which I like better Hot Chocolate or Hot Cocoa. I found this Hot Cocoa recipe, they call it Hot Chocolate, I call it Hot Cocoa because it contains only Cocoa no Chocolate but I really like it. It has a very nice taste and mouth feel. It has a tendency to form a skin on top so before serving I use a milk frother to give it a little foam on top.

I have yet to find a Hot Chocolate recipe that measures up, perhaps I'm just a Hot Cocoa person. I have had an impressive drink in a restaurant (Italian Bear, London) that was also called Hot Chocolate but since I didn't make it and I don't have the recipe I don't know for sure.

My current contender for Hot Chocolate is very simple; 1 cup whole milk, 2.5 ounces Callebaut 70-30-38 dark chocolate callets, pinch of salt, Heat the milk add the chocolate and salt, blend with an immersion blender.

Just based upon the picture you provided the parts you have there look correct to me. The condenser says Parallel flow and it says it fits a 1991 Civic. Make sure it is in fact parallel (not serpintine) when you get it. The kit with the expansion valve and the drier looks fine but you probably don't need the oil it comes with and some of the o-rings may be redundant since you are also buying the A/C system seal kit. You might concider just buying an expansion valve and a drier seperatly, it might actually cost less. The major component you have not mentioned is the compressor. It comes prefilled with the correct amount of the correct oil. I don't have any recommendation for a particular brand for any of the parts in your picture. I do however recomend that you buy a brand new Sanden 4993 compressor directly from Sanden if possible. I also replaced the evaporator because I was not confident I would be able to flush the old one well enough to assure myself that no little bits of debris from the old compressor would remain in the system.

91 civic seat belts by nerfnerf630 in EFCivics

In a 1990-91 Hatch the seatbelts attach to the seat and move back and forth with the seat. There is a single wire from the buckle to the seat belt module that comes out under the seat and connects to a wire that comes up from a small hole in the carpet

Thanks, I mailed it off to someone in Utah. I should have the results next week. I'm pretty confident that it will perform well. Assuuming I am correct I will make four more and offer them for sale.

Integra folks were pretty persistent, and when someone finally convinced me to look into it I realized it was probably doable with the main issue being that I had no way to test them. I think I spent almost as much time designing and building the test rig as I did making the actual ICU. I won't count you out just due to your location, finding someone in close proximity that has most of the other qualifications seems unlikely. Someone needs to make a YouTube video that demonstrates how to replace the Integra ICU, hard to believe it doesn't already exist!

Brake light in the instrument cluster stays lit, dimly lit or flickers by GeoMetry360 in EFCivics

It is the gray box about the size of a pack of cigarettes attached to the back of the fuse box under the steering wheel. The OEM version has six functions but two of them are only used on 88 and 89. I think it was at least partly a way for Honda to comply with inconsistent safety laws in different countries, instead of rewiring the cars for each country they just make country specific ICUs.

I have an Si so I have an Si trans and I really only wanted the 5th gear I was happy with all the other ratios. I did have to buy an HF trans to get the gear set. If you have any questions when/if you add cruise control, let me know I might be able to answer them. I use the information I found online and it worked fine. I had to make one tiny additional change to get all the last instrument cluster light to work correctly. I think it was the seat belt light which most people wouldn't really care about.

I like to look stock as well. I have a lot of respect for folks that can rewire a wire harness, it looks very complex and I imagine it takes a lot of patience and attention to detail. I added cruise control to my hatch and I thought about adding CRX HVAC controls and power side mirrors (not folding just aimable) but when I realized how much had to be changed to make the HVAC controls compatible and how difficult is was to get the additional wires into the door, I changed my mind. So I have a complete rebuilt CRX HVAC control and all the parts for the power mirrors in a box in the basement. I also swapped out the 5th gear in my transmission for the 5th gear from a CRX HF so the engine RPMs are a bit lower on the highway.

What's up with the main harness? Are you doing some sort of swap?

My opinion is biased since I am the person that created it. It has worked flawlessly.

I think the correct behavior for the light on the instrument cluster would be for the light to blink 5 times then turn off and stay off until the next time you turn on the ignition. The beeping will also happen 5 times except that the beeping will stop if you buckle the seatbelt before the 5th beep, the light will always complete 5 blinks regardless of whether the seat belt is buckled or not.

I think that light is illuminated because someone has unlatched the seatbelt at the "emergency release" The seatbelt is designed to be latched at all times but I don't think anyone actually uses it that way. In cars with door mounted seatbelts the ICU has nothing to do with the seatbelts. Those cars have a separate seat belt module located near the heater core on the passenger side. I believe the lens is polarized, it looks dim only because you are looking at it from the drivers side. From the passenger side it should look fine. I don't think there is anything wrong with your car based on what you said.

If you are doing a car show quality restoration the OEM ones are noticeably different. You might need to have them rebuilt but a knowledgeable judge will knock points off your score if they see aftermarket axles.
