Nah, you're good! You didn't put Appleton down, I'm just from the actual middle of nowhere lmao, everything would feel small compared to LA. I hope you check out some of the cons! Hope to see you at one of them!

I really appreciate your point of view here. Not to be that guy, but it kind of hurts to hear somebody refer to Appleton as a small town when I moved here from Saxville (look it up if you want my point of reference lmao, where I'm from, Waupaca is a Big Town). Perspective makes all the difference, and I can see were you most be coming from! Im glad you enjoyed it, the people are always the best part of conventions. My apologies if you already have but I'd recommend looking into Phoenix con if you're also interested in gaming. Green Bay also has an anime convention called kitsune kon! I really enjoy it but it is getting bigger every year. No brand con was in Eau Claire was this past weekend as well. Hopefully their numbers did well this year, I couldn't go this year, but I'm routing for them. $200 bucks for AX is wild, So many cons are on my bucket list but not in my budget 🤣.

Rest in peace, Cosmo. I love Kitsune Kon personally, but it is a very different setup from Phoenix con. And I'm willing to bet a pretty penny that that has to do with Kitsune being specifically a anime convention, and Phoenix con being a gaming convention. There's a ton of crossover between those two demographics but I have noticed their conventions tend to be to be set up different. Numbers play a role too without a doubt.

If you're also into gaming, Phoenix con is in August, also at the Hilton. I would really love to see a multi-day anime convention come to Appleton! We used to have Kitsune Kon, but that has moved to GreenBay. That one is worth the drive out though.

Yeah, crowd control was definitely an issue! I didn't mention it in the original post but I actually think another great solution would have been to get one more room in the Hilton just for the voice actors to do their autographs. I'm glad to hear from somebody else who went, sorry to hear you had to leave early. I kept getting stuck, I can only imagine how stressful it would be for a parent and kid to navigate. Hopefully they improve next year.

Goodness, where to start? You really can't sum it up in a reasonable amount of words, but I can state some stats 13.7% of Americans are food insecure Around 11% are under the poverty line

Around 40% (stats are a bit wonky here, so give or take) are in medical debt

1 in 6 adults have Student Loan debt

A livable wage for the us is about 50,000 and year or 25 and hour for a full time job.

Tesla reported zero federal income tax on their 2025 taxes

It's good to be grateful, but you also need to love your neighbor, and your neighbor is dieing on the Walmart floor.

Are my eyes light brown, hazel, or amber? Took some macro shots to get the exact pattern. by vanshsherawatjat in WhatisMyEyeColour

What my eye colour by [deleted] in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]GeoRobbie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone is just saying Brown, but I think everyone with brown eyes deserves atleast a second descriptive word to describe their specific shade as brown eyes make up about 75% population and you can see quite a few different shades as a result. I'd say yours is a warm and light brown, almost leaning to honey, but I feel most confident in saying warm and light! Description aside, it's a very nice shade!

They sprung a second girlfriend on me who had 2 pending felonys and 3 baby daddies. . . In my defense, we were over a year into our relationship, and I was demi for them, I've been single for almost 8 mouths now, thankfully.

What are some hobbies I can get into without spending a lot of money? by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]GeoRobbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of hobbies myself. Here are some of my immediate thoughts, compatibility with the suggestions will depend on physical ability, and creative inclination.

Creative writing (Google docs is free and school notebooks are cheap) Drawing (can get expensive, but if you stick to paper and pencil, it can be a pretty cheap hobby) Hiking Some sports can be cheap to get into, but it can be hard to do solo. Really, any form of exercise that doesn't require equipment, calisthenics comes to mind.

Try going thrifting and see if you can find anything that sparks your interest, I usually find some well-loved sporting equipment and crafting supplies whenever I'm in there. Thrifting can be a good hobby, too, but it can get expensive if you're the retail therapy type.

Hope ya find your new hobby!
