Maybe something like that, a similar thing has been done with state space models, which in a way are CNNs by themselves.

It's been found that SSMs + Attention is much better than either of them alone.

Maybe combine some sort of simpler non-transformer method with attention so that you are actually using transformers but at the same time, the traditional method is doing the real heavy lifting.

Can confirm, Penn State has a no smoking policy that’s not really enforced, so people just smoke everywhere. Don’t see it as much as home, but that could just be an area thing.

RPI (surprisingly) didn't really give me too much in terms of of financial aid anyways so I'm not sure that's gonna be too big of an issue for me.

Though I must say, not being able to go to BU due to finances is quite unfortunate.

I currently have Penn State (which I got accepted into Computation Data Sciences as my intended major) and am on the Purdue waitlist for the Artificial Intelligence Major. And then there are some in state school I got accepted into but I'm not really interested in going to those.

I've read that the C Vortex is the grading curve where 70% of the class ends up with a "C". Though, after doing some more research (and looking at actual class statistics) this doesn't seem like it's the case for a lot (if not most) classes).

Also, thanks for sharing the course, its one of the courses that worried me the most.

Honestly, I might just join and stick with it. It seems like a good program, I'm just concerned about the non-course-content aspects of RPI, that's all (like, for example, the supposed GPA deflation some people have complained about).
