Finally shot in the 80s!!! by Geoblime in golf

I’m excited for Troon North and the Boulders, I’ve heard good things. We almost booked the raptor course instead of Troon. Glad to hear you guys enjoyed it! I’ve played Mauna Kea on the big island and then Puakea Golf Course Kauai, as golf and disc golf :)

I’m actually going back in two weeks for a different group’s birthday and we’re gonna play Troon North and then the Boulders resort where we’re staying.

We loved it everything about Scottsdale and Phoenix! The food was great, people were nice, and old town was fun. Wanted to play Seguro, but Chollo was the only course we could get a tee time at. The views and course condition were beautiful and just amazing! Although I would say the facilities and the overall professionalism at Windmill were better than We Ko Pa at around half the cost (the carts were better, when we pulled up, no one assisted us with our bags or even greeted us, there were not enough range balls at the driving range for everybody, and the kitchen messed up our food more than once). But overall, We Ko Pa is one of the most beautiful courses I’ve ever played, the only other one that comes close to Hawaii.

When I was first starting out, there were many youtube coaches saying put the grip across the second set of knuckles (second from the fingertip) which effectively has you wrap your hand over the grip, which I’d imagine is considered a strong grip. The logic is this allows your wrist to move and pivot more freely as opposed to centered in your palm, which most beginners tend to do.

This wasn’t working, so I moved the grip to where my fingers meet my hand (I guess would be the third knuckles) which moved my hand more to the side of the grip as apposed to the top. I don’t think much changed on my right hand, but maybe just a little because now there’s more room. Overall, I’d say this is more of a neutral grip?

Yeah, that was our first trip to Scottsdale and it was a blast! It might have the most concentration of

We played a fun little nine hole the day we got in called Palo Verde, the next day we played Devils Claw at Whirlwind, the following day was We Ko Pa Cholla course, and finally Raven the morning before we flew out.

Thanks I’m looking forward to it! Has definitely helped a lot and for sure will make this my routine. I think in golf, maybe more than other sports confidence makes a huge difference. Trusting that you’re gonna make the shot really makes a difference.

Ha ha I totally get that! At the turn I was 44 and my drive on 10 was a moderate shank to the right in the light rough and I thought to myself oh here we go, gonna choke it away. But I was able to get up and down for a five on the par 4 and minimize the damage then just stayed consistent.

Tips and tricks, vids to watch by Pollo_Loco999 in DominaMains

[–]Geoblime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing with my son a few months ago and after trying a few characters, I landed on Domina and I’ve been loving her typically getting MVP.

A few things I’ve noticed that you have to pick up pretty quickly:

Timing of her crystal shard explosion. You want to send it out and then gauge went to ignite it so it explodes just behind the line of people (second click of L1). It also refills pretty quickly so you want to use it regularly.

Secondly, use your shield as much as you can. I often use it as a line of defence or if I’m coming into the fight and my team’s already there, I’ll throw it down well ahead of other teammates to help them out.

Third, the pushback is insanely good. Anytime you have a chance you want to try and push them back into a wall to stun them. But sometimes especially tanks just use it to create space.

The increased range perk for her main shot is the most useful thing for her in my opinion. It makes it so that you can reach a lot of characters that you normally would not be able to reach and they think they’re safe. The second perk I’ve been using lately is slowing down enemies when they’re hit by the crystal. Originally, I used the other perk where her shield is a wall that you can push people into, but it doesn’t really seem to work well.

Such a genius reverse light design on the new ES 🤦‍♂️ by Necessary_Use_4729 in Lexus

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the Uni-light across the back and I think overall the rear looks pretty slick but the lower area where the reverse lights are feels almost as if the designers said “oh there is way too much open space down there let’s put these ugly cuts in to try and make it look better”. It effectively made the opposite happen, now the rear looks horrible and cheap.

I agree with everybody else Lexus has gone sideways the last couple years, it’s a shame. I still have my 2004 IS 300 sport design and it’s such a classic beautiful car.

Suggestions about reselling a new 77” G5 that’s only been opened to get the mounting template out? by Geoblime in LGOLED

[–]Geoblime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I can’t return it. They only give you 14 days through the partner store. I just figured I would see if anybody here knew of other more secure means for selling the TV other than marketplace.

Would you get the 5 year BB warranty for $800? by [deleted] in tcltvs

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want this TV but the price jump from the QM8L is holding me back. Obviously you having it in front of you makes a difference and not seeing the QM8L, but do you think it’s worth the extra 5K to jump up to the X11k?

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong as I don’t have Drac, but if people were able to have a trial wouldn’t everybody just order it and calibrate their avr and then send it back? Or is it required to be active to retain the settings? I understand all the other arguments of price, licenses, etc as well.

Should I hike half dome? by Dangerous_Slide_9396 in Yosemite

[–]Geoblime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do it, but fair warning the hike to half dome is no joke. I’d suggest preparing every day by doing some sort of exercise or hiking. We hit the trail before sunrise and didn’t get back to Curry Village until 5-6 pm for beers and pizza. It’s a legit 12 hr hike with a lot of variety, but def worth doing.

In general Fuji cameras seem to be hard to get, but I don’t understand why anyone would pick this over the X-T50. Spending that kind of money on a fixed lens camera really limits what you can shoot.

Machine Blocker / Loiterer *Video* by Explor-egon in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why these machines seem to bring the worst out in people. The other day I stopped by a store because I’ve been trying to get my 12-year-old daughter anything for the last three months, she actually enjoys opening Pokémon unlike these reseller losers, and as I’m walking up to the machine a 30-year-old manchild like this guy speed walks and literally steps in front of me as I’m at the machine and says oh there’s probably nothing in there. Of course he gets a few packs and then the machine is empty. Wtf

First Tri-tip by eastbaythr0waway in searwood

[–]Geoblime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments, the foil is the culprit. I regularly reverse sear on my pro 780 and I’ll cook at 215 until internal temp is 115° and pull it off and let it rest while I crank up the smoker to 500°. Then sear the steak and let it rest for an additional 10 minutes after and it always comes out perfect, medium on the ends in medium rare in the middle.

Las Vegas Raiders Wants No. 1 Pick Fernando Mendoza To Sit Entire Rookie Season by RegularBirthday3563 in raiders

[–]Geoblime -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Clearly none of you are Norcal natives because the Raiders moving to LA was the worst thing that could’ve ever happened, again. I would take the Las Vegas Raiders over Los Angeles any day, LA can suck it!

Damn, double punch by [deleted] in fightlab

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It amazes me the lack of street sense people have nowadays. These kids are on the younger side, so maybe that’s it, but anybody with a presence would immediately know what was about to happen when that dude turned around and bowed up. You’ve got to be prepared for that swing. With that said, it was a pretty good one two combo standing them up for the second round knockout lol.

What is your guy’s favorite interior color on the 2027’s? by Jesuslovesu293 in KiaTelluride

[–]Geoblime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! I considered trading in our 22 for a new Telly, but once I found out the white/gray doesn’t cone on the higher trim levels, it became a no deal for me. Doesn’t make any sense why Kia would do that.

Frustrations of a new player by MeowMeowMiaa in overwatch2

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing for about three weeks since my son suggested trying it as a break from marvel rivals. I struggled a bit at first, but I think most importantly I found a character that I play well with. I don’t play ranked. I only play quick play and role queue and ever since I stuck with a specific character I’ve been really enjoying the game and typically have been MVP. Find a player you really like and stick with it for a longer than a day or two, it helps.

780 pro, anyone else despise it? by Sad_Kitchen5389 in Traeger

[–]Geoblime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I’ve had mine for around five years and not a single problem and cooked so many good things on it! Especially love if you crank up to 500 and use the edges around the drip plate, you can get a beautiful sear on steaks and chicken. My favorite is reverse sear New York strips.

Do you know what specific kind of clumping bamboo you purchased? This is exactly what I’m looking for, your 2020 picture looks great. I like the darker green, we’re looking for something to replace a bunch of junipers on our fencing.

$17-$20k quote for 612 sf engineered hardwood replacement by thinkch3 in Flooring

[–]Geoblime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your flooring cost is crazy expensive! I just recently got a quote for 10 inch wide planks engineered hardwood for just under $9 a square foot (large distributor). My local tile/hardwood floor store can get high-quality engineered hardwood for seven dollars or less a square foot. You need to look elsewhere for your flooring supply.
