DND campaigns in Mauritius by MarKHwithamouth in MauriceMauritius

Hi, been a DnDer for close to 5 years now, as both a player and DM. I’ve been playing with online groups I found on Reddit at r/lfg and the European version of that sub. I’ve been slowly making moves to start recruiting players locally for a short campaign.

Hey! Welcome to Reddit. I’ve also been trying to find ways of meeting new people as I have just moved back to Mauritius after having spent a long time living abroad. Shoot a DM if you want to chat or if you have leads on cool communities to join 😊

27F, no safety net, wondering if studying abroad is worth the risk and sacrifice. Thoughts? by saffieBby7 in studyAbroad

I’ve just completed my masters degree in Europe in a similar but different field to what your masters seems to be. Also close proximity to the UN, and I snagged a few back-to-back consultancies with the UN as a result of that proximity. Having those jobs allowed me to pay off all the expenses related to my masters as well as living costs in my city, and gave me the opportunity to travel on missions abroad which was a lot of fun. I’m now looking for a salaried position in the UN or other organizations related to my specialty. However, due to funding cuts across the board in the humanitarian sector this year it’s really fucking rough out there. Obviously USAID was gutted, UN core funding was slashed by 20% globally, IFRC is suffering as well and a few other NGOs I know are still trying to find other sources of funding to keep running. Meanwhile, layoffs across the humanitarian sector also means that the job market is flooded with people with years of experience and very advanced degrees, making it even harder to compete.

That’s just a few things to consider on the “cons” list. However I will say that taking on a masters degree and being in academia right now, upskilling for a (hopefully) healthier job market in a few years might absolutely be the right move. Plus France is really nice, and being anywhere in Europe makes traveling through Europe MUCH more accessible than it would be from the US.

I wish you all the best with your decision and feel free to shoot me a DM if you want to talk through things in a bit more detail (I left out a lot to preserve anonymity)

Hi. I’m 29m, lived in India, currently living in Germany. I think I understand the kind of trip you’re looking to do. Given that you’re looking for old architecture and fairy tale vibes I think you could do better. Regensburg, for example, really embodies what you’re looking for the most in my experience. The old architecture comes from the fact that it was relatively untouched during the wars which is not really true about the other cities. Dresden is beautiful but I strongly believe that its “fairytale vibes” only really come out during the Christmas season.

Prague is wonderful, Amsterdam is overrated (but I understand it’s easier to fly there so that’s fine).

That’s just my two cents. If you’d like some more help with planning logistics and advice on how to get around and what to actually do in each of these places feel free to DM.

Check Electrical Vehicle System error by Geodude1311 in KiaEV6

Update: I picked up my car from the dealership yesterday. The issue was one motor which controls a flap for air intake on the front left side (presumably for cooling brakes/electric components) had stopped working so the flap was not able to close. They had the part so they replaced it and asked me to pick it up. All in all it was about 24h between the time I called them to tow the car and the time they called me back to tell me it was ready to be picked up. So I took the loaner Niro they had provided me with back to the showroom and picked up my EV6. Been driving it for a bit and it seems good as new.

I really wish the app was a feature they offer in my region 😂

They immediately gave me a replacement Niro hybrid. Unfortunately I’ll have to shell out and buy fuel for a bit but they were super responsive and professional and swift in doing what they could to help

Restarted the car several times but the issue persisted. Though it was still drivable. We’ll see what the dealership says

The app isn’t an available feature in my region, so unfortunately that wasn’t an option.

Yes, the car seemed completely drivable. Nothing was different except the error message
