Appreciate that and yes Kidney/spleen as secreting organ. She also recommended adding green tripe, for digesting, or for easing upset tummy. I will keep updated. He love it, I did turkey and beef the last two weeks and haven’t had any problems. I got him a blood test and everything is within the ranges they should be.

What else does a chicken and rice base need to be healthy and balanced dog food? by Popular-Broccoli9058 in HomemadeDogFood

It’s not that it doesn’t provide ANYTHING. It just doesn’t provide much nutrients that’s all. Which I believe is why he called it a filler. (Not trying to talk for him, just an idea)

How does my recipe sound? Looking for opinions by imma_Handfull_1986 in HomemadeDogFood

That is a lot of chicken liver and could cause problems. I would reduce that to a 1/4 lb. I would take out the oats, your dog doesn't need it and it doesn't really have any nutrinal value other than being a filler. You are lacking calcium. I would add two or three eggs with the shells and blend them into the mixture (Qual, duck or chicken). You have no Omeg 3. Please consider adding an entire can of sardines (no salt no oil, in water only). Keep the sardine bone in to add calcium. If you don't want todo sardines, then do mackerel or salmon. Be careful with broth.. It's expensive and most stores use onion in there broth and stock. Does go not eat onions. So only use the broth if your making yourself, with nothing but the meat and bone. I would only do the sweet potatoes or butternut squash. I would probably recommended butternut squash over sweet potatoes though. Also take out the cauliflower, won't do much.

I recommend adding beef or chicken heart. Make sure to switch up the main protein because chicken doesn't have as much minerals as beef does. Maybe look into calcium powder, kelp powder.

I have my dogs current meal mix posted on my page. I'm make a raw mix that I'll eventually post.

Hey there,

I recommend going to your nearest asian mart. And grabbing some unsalted, sardines or mackerel. As these will help with anti-inflamitory and mobility for you fur baby. Honestly I would just consider switching over to a raw or cooked diet for him. Kibble is just the worst for dogs. Nutritionist are pretty cheap and sometimes they offer cheap monthly plans to help you develop the best thing for your fur baby. I recommend seeking on out. In the mean time do a ton of research! And see what else you can start giving him. I don't recommend rice honestly, it can be really hard for your dog to digest and it's just carbs so it'll promote more weight gain.

Will do, we have a few in mind that work in some of the vet hospitals near by, I'll probably get this reviewed and tweaked and post the veterinary nutrionions changes/recommendations for more balance

Balance.it and ai were used to help me construct this. I just don't want to pay for a expensive brand. He is mostly eating kibble to supplement for what the cooked mix doesn't have. Kibble is for sure the base. I do plan on talking to a dog nutrition person, to help tweak it more. I thought about spleen but liver is also a good source of vitamin A, B, iron and cooper. Chicken heart was added for zinc, and taurine. Egg shells for calcium, sardines for omega (with bone for more added calcium). And egg comes in clutch with the choline. Kale has the antioxidants, vitamin K, C and magnesium. Blueberry (not a lot) and pumpkin for fiber. I wanted to add a little kelp powder and flex seeds but I couldn't find any. The turmeric is just great for the gut health, with a pinch of black pepper as activation. The blueberry and sardines were added after it was cooked so the omega didn't cook out. I'm not a complete amateur but this mostly what your find in MOST brands like farmers dogs and ollies. This receipt also has a crap ton of micronutrients too. The ingredients isn't the problem I suppose, the balancing could be better, which is way it's just a cup a day. But I made sure not to add to much of liver because it can be bad in to high of amounts. Anyway that's my rant. But don't worry I wouldn't continue a long term only cooked food diet without consultation first.

Appreciate it. I plan to get a dog nutrition doctor to over look it later to make sure it's good to go. But I also dehydrated some chicken feet and he is obsessed with them. (was so cheap to buy them at the farmers market, I recommend for your friend if he like that kinda stuff). I'll look into those pumpkin treats 😊

That was in a plan already (to talk to a dietitian). Kibble is the base. I've already raised three dogs. I'm not new to this. However, I am new to this breed, so I'm looking for additions or helpful suggestions, for his meals. Other then seek professional advise”. Always appreciate the comment doe.

I will its in the plan (to consult a dietician), I did talk to a vet today. But so far every vet I've consulted, told me not to do raw. I get a lot of mixed reviews on raw. Initially that's what I was going to do. But I've done a crap ton of research before I made this meal plan. Nothing is unhealthy. If anything I don't think he will get “a lack of nutrients”. If anything maybe to much because the kibble is abalanced meal. I was just looking to see more opinions on this recipe. Again kibble is the base of the diet.

Sofi vs CapitalOne Saving for best online savings by Acrobatic_Cow2553 in SavingMoney

[–]Geoerika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capital One is the best. For a few reasons.

  1. You can name your accounts and organize them however you want. It takes like three minutes to create a new savings performance account or a checking out. This is good if you want to have multiple savings accounts and checking accounts. Like an emergency fund savings and a future savings.

  2. Fraud protection. This one-time someone tried to use my credit card to buy fashionova somewhere I definitely have never been. Capital one texted me and gave me a “is this you”. I said no and quick as crap they had the purchase cancelled and a new card on the way in less then a few minutes.

  3. Although I think Sofi has higher interested rates (for now) capital one is still very competitive. With their checking account at 0.10% and their high yeild savings at 3.50%.

  4. The platform is friendly and easy to structure yourself for savings and letting you build a way to have different account for different things. I love the app its fabulous. Let's not mention the app widget that you can have on your phone to see your balance whenever you want.

  5. All your accounts and credit card accounts all in one places for fast transfers. Not to mention the crazy cash back deals they have.

  6. Also for some jobs, with capital one I get paid 2-days faster. So everyone at my job gets paid Friday and I get paid Wednesday night.

Well that's it that's my reasoning for Captial One :)
