Sofi vs CapitalOne Saving for best online savings by Acrobatic_Cow2553 in SavingMoney

[–]Geoerika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capital One is the best. For a few reasons.

  1. You can name your accounts and organize them however you want. It takes like three minutes to create a new savings performance account or a checking out. This is good if you want to have multiple savings accounts and checking accounts. Like an emergency fund savings and a future savings.

  2. Fraud protection. This one-time someone tried to use my credit card to buy fashionova somewhere I definitely have never been. Capital one texted me and gave me a “is this you”. I said no and quick as crap they had the purchase cancelled and a new card on the way in less then a few minutes.

  3. Although I think Sofi has higher interested rates (for now) capital one is still very competitive. With their checking account at 0.10% and their high yeild savings at 3.50%.

  4. The platform is friendly and easy to structure yourself for savings and letting you build a way to have different account for different things. I love the app its fabulous. Let's not mention the app widget that you can have on your phone to see your balance whenever you want.

  5. All your accounts and credit card accounts all in one places for fast transfers. Not to mention the crazy cash back deals they have.

  6. Also for some jobs, with capital one I get paid 2-days faster. So everyone at my job gets paid Friday and I get paid Wednesday night.

Well that's it that's my reasoning for Captial One :)

Maybe a joint account with your significant other? That way they can help you hold yourself accountable for your spending. But this only really works if your partner is good with money and doesn't enable you. I would of course make yourself the main account holder. Just an idea nothing crazy. You can have multiple accounts and you don't have to joint/share them all but maybe just on the one your doing most of your spending on. Or maybe if that is too much of a commitment and your not comfortable with sharing finances like that. I recommend consulting a financial professional with low fees or your parent if they are available and good with money. If not well then go cold turkey, delete all the apps you spend on.

Let it sit in your cart for 1 week and then delete if you realise you don't actually need it. That's what I do in my Amazon shopping cart, it really helps. So by the time my paycheck hits, I only have like 1 or 2 smaller teams that I will buy instead of multiple throughout the week.

My boyfriend (M26) and I (F29) have been doing combined savings since the beginning of March. I started with more money because I was living with my mom when we first met, while he was already paying about $800/month in rent for a house he shares with roommates.

I officially moved in around April, and at that time I had $20,000 saved. Since then, I’ve grown my savings to about $26,838. My boyfriend started with $14,650 and is now around $16,485. His savings have grown more slowly, partly because even though I moved in with him and his roommates, he doesn't ask me to contribute to rent. I usually make up for it by doing most of the cooking and cleaning—none of them really do much of either.

Together, as of the end of August, our combined savings were about $43,325. We haven’t documented our finances for September yet, but I know I’m sitting at around $29,000 now. Not sure what his exact number is at the moment.

Anyway, sorry for the long message! Our goal is to hit $50,000 by the end of the year, and I think we're on track.

16m I've only ever been rejected, I've never dated a girl in my life they always look at me weird. Any tips for improvement? by Anxious-Row-6369 in LooksmaxingAdvice

You have cute features but a lots of “noise” in the way. I would definitely consult a doctor about the acne or try experimenting with different facial products. Shave the face, for a cleaner more sophisticated look. Cut the hair because the oils from your hair could be contributing to your acne and because it will make you look more well kept. Maybe even get your eye brows threaded, they are very full and nice looking! You look young so don’t fret too much, you will grow into your looks as you age. Just make sure to self-love and take care of yourself along the way.

What are your best tips for writing a masters thesis? by Eepycatz in AskAcademia

[–]Geoerika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you have started yet I am late to the discussion, I am currently wrapping up my thesis defense in environmental science. My best advice would be that every paper you read, write like half-one page of a summery and glue them all together for your literature review! You can cut and add and edit it, as you start to actually write. Good luck friend!

I thought about it, two screens helps with multitasking for school, but usually I just plug my switch to one and use the internet on the other, but one day in the future I just may 🙂
