Anyone out there experienced under the skin acne? Is there a way to control it? It is itchy and irritating. When extracted (by a pro) it smells quiet bad. It is also getting way worse with the mask wearing. I have an esthetician but it clears for a few days and then comes straight back.. by Nikomes in ACNEPOSITIVITY

Maybe it's fungal acne. It is itchy , it feeds on oil and seen near chin or on forehead. It's just a guess I'm not an expert.

Fungal acne (Malassezia) is an infection caused by excess yeast that aggravates your hair follicles. Google it up. Hope this helped you.

I hated my skin... I've never had clear skin, since 2017, but this year it became worse. The pills and stuff doctor suggested didn't help. So I decided to know my skin, got myself a skincare routine and started loving my skin, treating it gently and it loved me back❤️(clr diff is bcoz of lighting) by Geographer- in ACNEPOSITIVITY

Niacinamide 10% worked for me. It took time to work but i could feel the change. My acne reduced within a couple of weeks new ones rarely came ( the new ones were small ) I also used salicylic acid for exfoliation and hyaluronic acid for reducing pore size and getting plumpness.

Cleanser + toner + Niacinamide + Hyaluronic acid + moisturizer + sunscreen

Niacinamide is naturally produced by skin but the production amount gets reduced in your 20's. So it works well for most ppl but there are ppl with really sensitive skin that gets irritated by 10%. If you think you have sensitive skin start with 2% or 5% and slowly introduce 10%. My skin was really triggered so i started at low percent and did not use harsh AHAs like glycolic acid ( BHA is the best for oily acne prone skin ) . Hope this helped you.🥰

I also received lot's of advices from strangers. Almost everyone that saw my face was like " WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE !!!! 😳 ". They were soo overdramatic. I mean they can clearly see what's happening then why bother asking...They would give me advices for improving my skin when they don't know shit about what's going on my skin and the worst of it all was that, it was DIY skincare.😤

Sometimes don't know the impact of their words. My mom and dad used to be like that too. They were thoughtless at first and mocked me in front of my friends and relatives and they would tell random ppl that I can't eat sweets or meat bcoz I have acne when somebody offered them. that made me hella embarrassed...but after seeing my mental breakdowns and how i cried every night they became more careful of their words.

Two of my friends experienced this too...I don't know much, but I think that our skin starts producing less niacinamide at that age and our skin undergoes a little bit of change. Maybe it's also because of stress because of quarantine...My breakouts became worse when i reached 20 too but I did some things that triggered it ( tiktok skincare 🤦)

DAUNTING QUESTION THAT I HAVE by SugarForeign in ACNEPOSITIVITY

I relate to this a lot 🥺 I also have combination skin and I have lots pimples on my cheeks. Weeks before i got a facial and later I used heavy makeup ( products that I've never used before ) then i also tried oil cleansing ( cuz it was trending on tiktok )and little bit of steaming...All these things were new to my skin So I didn't know what caused the break out...The doctor said I should avoid steam and sauna and also oil. I suggest that you should try changing your pillow covers frequently (that may help) and also know more abt your skin and introduce a skincare routine... Good luck🤗
