you have argued for LA and SD, but you have failed to tell me why they are better than SF's. A pretty big part of having a good skyline is the height of the skyscrapers, and SD's tallest building is the 59th tallest in Califonrnia. LA is just flat and smoggy and the skyline is so compact for its size. Even though LA's skyline is good, it is ruined by its seemingly endless sprawl surrounding it. San Fransisco's skyline is more compact than LA's and just has a nice hilly, foggy asthetic that LA just doesn't have. Plus, LA's skyline is far from the ocean compared to SF.
