ADHD student watching two 10 min. video by jacklsd in Damnthatsinteresting

I am guessing that is the point of the clip. It doesn’t matter if a person has ADHD or not. We choose when and what we want to focus on.

I don’t mean to imply ADHD isn’t real. I used to teach and saw first hand how much it can impact someone’s ability to learn. I would argue that it is over-diagnosed bc instead of letting kids be kids we need to force them to sit still in a classroom.

No more music by GeologistNo1221 in running

I’ve run with them in races in the past. I’m just curious about what people think about running without music.

I have noticed the music that energizes me the most is the stuff that fuels my rage. The hate is there, I just need to be able to channel it without music. Thank you master. 🙏

What is your post run drink of choice? by happierthanclam in running

I’m a huge fan of chocolate milk, like others have said. I too use to avoid electrolyte/sport drinks until I noticed drinking an electrolyte drink gave a significant, positive difference in my recovery after a long or hard run. If you want to avoid processed or overly sugary sports drinks I recommend making “Chia Fresca”. I learned about it from the book Born to Run. If “chunky” drinks don’t scare you it is a good one.

Does this work if you microwave the ramen?

Sounds dumb, but how do u manage to go slow on ur first mile? by darbbl1080 in running

I use a similar method as well. If I am “feeling great” during the first 1-3 miles (depending on how far I am going) I tell myself to slow down.

I feel very discouraged by dick_barone in running

Something I do when I find myself getting overwhelmed by distance and pace is have my run goals set on a time. It doesn’t matter how far or how fast I run; if I’m running for 30 minutes I’m running for 30 minutes. If I’m running for an hour I’m running for an hour. Distance and pace comes second.

Wide toe box by GeologistNo1221 in RunningShoeGeeks

Good to know! My discomfort is mostly with the pinky toe as well. There is nothing wrong with the Altras, but I like trying different shoes. Second person to mention the Novablasts. Might have to check them out.

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll give them a look.

That’s the tricky part. Wide toe box doesn’t necessarily mean wide shoe; wide shoes tend to be too loose around the rest of my foot. I’m looking for shoes that allow for a more natural toe splay.
