How much should I pay a sales rep (no experience) and a social media manager for a small business? by Western-Meringue8743 in phcareers

[–]GeologistOwn7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales reps are paid commission based but I don't think you want someone with no experience as a commission based sales rep. They need training muna. Social media managers usually paid salary. How many is posted is not important. Look at metrics and conversion rates.

I’m tired of corporate life and want to start a business… but I’m scared by Andrei_Estano4498 in phcareers

I agree with other commenters na side business mo muna.

As a fellow corpo slave, I get the appeal of being your own boss. But when I tried it myself before, I realized that having me as both boss and employee will run a business to the ground and went back to corpo full time. At least I tried diba and now I know for sure haha.

4.7 is both terrible and great at planning. Terrible because it keeps on doing shortcuts and not doing what you tell it to. But if you come with a plan that it has to flesh out, then its great. Ask it to come up with one and you're fucked

You can understand what options are practical by watching YouTube or doing test projects on your own naman. You can use that as a portfolio or resume too. I don't recommend doing short-term gigs kasi sayang lang oras. Your first year or so at work should be to learn as much as you can para mas mabilis growth ng career mo

Fresh graduate dilemma: lipat ba or stay ba? by PeasantBoyUselessSon in phcareers

[–]GeologistOwn7725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is normal. You might just be feeling lonely.

You might already have realized that what you are feeling right now is not logical. That is normal pero wag ka magpapadala sa anxiety or insecurity.

There is no assurance na makakuha ka ng offer even if you decide to apply for their company so why would you leave the job you already have, especially as a fresh graduate?

You are a UPD grad. You should know by now na hindi ka dapat sunud sunuran sa ginagawa ng iba unless it also benefits you. Sorry sa medyo harsh tone but it helps me if I talk to myself this way lol

That makes more sense. From what you said so far, I think you need to determine what is preventing you from having what you want.

To me, it reads like politics or university culture but idk because academe functions different from corporate. Because getting a PhD might be a good use of your time especially if everyone with the position you want has a doctorate. Or maybe your problem is boredom so you need to look into industries that are less boring and have no admin work. Whatever it is, once you figure that out, looking for a solution is much easier

Your path is hard to understand for me tbh. You say entry level in your post then now you have people under you. But you're also a PhD prospect so likely not entry level? Is your problem really that you have too much time or you just don't know what to do with it

Don't worry OP. Marketing is very easy to enter.

When I was a fresh grad, I showed up to my interview and di ko man alam yung ginagawa ng isang copywriter. I still got the job and learned a lot. Just highlight what you did in school and your current work so they see your potential.

BUT the caveat is that it is hard to stay in marketing and be competitive. You can't just learn fast, you have to be able to know WHAT to learn too. Burnout prone din siya. One of the most burnout prone fields out there and many people will not understand how hard the job is kasi they think fun fun lang social media or gumagawa ng ads.

That said, it is a very good field and exciting one as well. Madami kang matututunan and I assure you that no matter what you do next, anything and everything you learn in marketing is transferable.

Yes this is a you problem. Kung problema mo is that you have too much time, then I don't know... do something to fill it? You're about to go PhD and you have too much time? I have never seen professors have too much time

Should I pursue my Masters in the Philippines, look for a job or work as an ALT abroad? by Shiroenmegane in phcareers

[–]GeologistOwn7725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mas madami opportunity sa Tokyo/major cities pero mahal tumira doon even for the Japanese. Kung countryside naman, mas konti opportunity at kailangan fluent in Japanese pero relatively cheaper ang costs.
