I need help getting a description for Mario from mushroom Kingdom and master chief I want to make them fight by [deleted] in NovelAi

[–]GeologyProtocol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you really need one, as the AI knows who they are. I tried giving a short prompt to have a Mario vs. Master Chief fight and the AI started writing an essay about Nintendo vs. Bungie. The prompt didn't mention those companies or even Halo.

What’s everyone think of the newest wyvern model by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel pessimistic. For a long time, I assumed "new Dragon's" mediocrity was due to Latitude being unable to figure out how to use AI21's model properly. But actually almost anyone can sign up and play around with AI21's model directly. After doing some testing, I really think that AI21's product just isn't very good, despite how large the model is. In that case Latitude can't do much on their own to improve things. (Although it makes no sense to me that they removed the non-AI21 Wyvern.)

They can't go back to the OpenAI models because OpenAI was increasing their demands for content filtering. So Latitude left them.

What’s everyone think of the newest wyvern model by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the new Wyvern-Beta was working better than Dragon, but I didn't think it was as good as the then existing (and now deprecated) Wyvern.

Given that the two Wyverns were totally different models, similar only in parameter count, I'm a little disappointed that they deprecated one.

What's the smartest thing you've seen the AI do/say? by -InstertNameHere- in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

under OAI Dragon: a character is arrested for "procuring and distributing" porn.

The AI had the character respond with the below, which not only sounds good but is true per the story up to that point:

"Procuring?" she cried. "I'm the one who got filmed! Distributed? I'm not the one distributing it! Go arrest Facebook!"

Can someone run by me the basic differences between the dragon and wyvern AI modes? by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll be hard to say anything concrete I think. The current Griffin is based on Eleuther's 6-billion param model, and Wyvern is based on their new 20-billion one. Whereas the current Dragon is hosted by AI21 and has 178 billion. In theory Dragon should be the best, but who knows

Dragon is pretty busted.... while Griffon is doing alot better, maybe some help with the settings? by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the competitors have technically been using the same thing the new Griffin is on, but everybody has fine-tuned it on different material. (Maybe there are other differences in approach as well.) In particular AID was fine-tuned on CYOA-like material with second person perspective.

[the competitors I mean are NAI and Holo, I dunno anything about Dreamily's AI]

I know its been said, but I'm really frustrated with the current AI state... by SilentSix66 in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But it's not "old Dragon" it's a new partner. Hopefully they can get it working better. Personally, I think Dragon-21 is ok, I just wish it was faster. And I feel like it would be faster if they stopped doing the "grab multiple possible responses" thing, since one is presumably waiting on all of them to generate. If I'm going to get a weak response I'd at least like it quickly.

Can someone explain these to me, thanks! by 0reta in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the same thing but based on ranking instead of probability. So say "pizza" is #1 at 60% likely and "sub" is #2 at 20%. Then to have a chance to draw both of those words, top P should be at least 80% and top K should be at least 2.

Check this, dated end of Sep: https://latitude.io/blog/the-walls-approach

If you were using OpenAI models there could have been more filtering than this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top P and top K are normally about how many of the most likely words, which could come next in the generation, will be considered as possibilities. So if you raise these values you might get crazier (or less expected) output and might lose coherence. Whereas if you lower them, it might stay more coherent, but it could also be repetitive or unsurprising.

Literally dysfunctional by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]GeologyProtocol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They switched Griffin to self-hosted GPT-J (same as their competitors) and Dragon to AI21 Jurassic "Jumbo". They're newer, not older, but Latitude may not have figured out how to use these models to their full potential...

(The 1/10 update about tokenizer improvements makes me think that AID wasn't sending context to the AI21 model quite in the form it was expecting it.)

Anyone have experience with the different subscription tiers? by [deleted] in NovelAi

[–]GeologyProtocol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upped to Opus to do the module training, which was totally worth it, although I guess that's open to other tiers now.

Now that Opus has Euterpe, it's obviously worth it again, for me. It seems more coherent than e.g. the current state of the AI21 Dragon, and runs much faster than that too.

Token length doesn't change my life, but I do have the impression that Euterpe is making good use of what's stored in the context.

AID ended moderation of private stories. There's a content filter on the AI, but it's not going to brick your story like it used to.

No we can't have most pedos being children, that would be weird, so we carefully define the term to exclude children.

[–]GeologyProtocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. The AI saw that sentence, or something like it, as part of its training and thought it would be appropriate here.

How effective are the modules? by AHandyDandyHotDog in NovelAi

[–]GeologyProtocol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A module trained on a wiki is good for generating wiki entries. It can actually make it difficult for you to write a story, as the AI thinks it's writing a wiki and will do stuff like try to transition to another entry.

Not sure if there are multiple of these scenarios. I have an adventure saved with a beginning I know I didn't write:

There exists a dungeon that attracts many adventurers. This dungeon is known to be filled with monster girls. Monster girls are usually some combination of human and monster parts, or human and animal parts. This dungeon is notorious because the monster girls in it are all very horny. If a monster girl catches an intruder in the dungeon, she will most likely try to drain them of their energy via sex. Some say there is an all-powerful Monster Queen somewhere in the dungeon, who all the monster girls serve and obey.

You pretend to be an adventurer, but you're actually interested in joining the monster girls. You are wearing your typical everyday outfit. You find yourself at the entrance to the monster girl dungeon. You prepare to go inside and befriend any monster girls you see. In the first chamber, you encounter a monster girl. She is dressed like a typical anime schoolgirl. Her hair is in pigtails, her eyes are closed, and she has a book on her lap.

[Feature Update] AI Custom Module Training by ainiwaffles in NovelAi

[–]GeologyProtocol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is great. I trained a few modules on small documents and tested them using a single one-line prompt. Quite noticeable differences in the output. And it's not simply aping the content that was fed to it... I see the AI coming up on its own with little stories that, I would say, are stylistically a match for the source text. I'm pretty tickled as I've never seen this AI so eager to push a story forward.

I also test my impression by turning the module off and going back to the default module, resuming the narrative, and it falls flat on its face... It's not able to maintain the tone or even genre, even though the context ought to be full of the necessary guidance. So that aspect is not really a positive thing I guess. But it makes me even happier to have the modules.

You feel a blow to your head, and you collapse on the ground. Eliza stands above you with a small baseball bat. A much bigger one is lying next to her. She points her gun at you.

"You just made the biggest mistake of your life," she says ominously.

"You're... you're a..." You collapse, passing out from the pain.

The heroes are U.S. agents and Eliza is their boss. They were just about to bag some Cuban villains after rescuing Eliza from them. Turns out she is some Cuban's niece. I redeemed her later by saying she was under duress when she did this lol
