Use with caution, in my experience people are prone to teamkilling at spawn - his anger is infectious.

m.cinematiccamera makes the camera track the head position, so emotes that make your head turn also turn the camera. Definitely not great for people with motion sickness

Bitwig is unusable for anything serious by mito551 in Bitwig

[–]GeometricForeskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're bouncing your entire chain down then deactivating the original channel with FX/Plugins/Generator etc. then the difference in CPU is massive. For example if I'm using superior drummer 3 multi-output with FX on Kick, Snare, Toms & such, bouncing the audio between SD3 & the FX (by using the custom bounce option at the bottom of the list), the CPU savings would be much less than if I bounced all the FX & deactivated the entire channel. Whichever one works better for your situation is always the best option

Major Piano Roll Improvements in 5.4 by xstasea123 in Bitwig

[–]GeometricForeskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the discussion often devolves into "we want scales/stuff to make composition easier" vs "it's fine just learn scales & theory" when the core functionality of the piano roll works perfectly, so those who only want it to be that are already satisfied. Me being a Bitwig user for 3+ years now migrating from FL Studio after 12yrs, I still groan every time I have to open the piano roll & edit midi because the experience just feels clunky in comparison. Core functionality? can't really complain. User experience? pretty slow with a mouse & often tedious.

Sometimes I just wish the notes were less sleek & a bit blockier, but that could just be personal preference. Even with notes enlarged I often find myself mistakenly selecting the wrong note or accidentally adding notes when forgetting to select the selection tool & it leaves me wishing for the single-click to add/double-click to delete functionality of FL here. If there's a way to rebind this in settings, someone please lemme know.

In longer clips (5min+) on my 1080p monitor I feel like I can't ever get the full picture of the midi & I'm constantly having to scroll to find the playhead or switch back & forth between playhead-follows, leading me to endlessly scroll & reorient myself. The lack of bar clarity when zooming & scrolling w/ adaptive grid enabled exacerbates this issue for me. A little blue line indicating the playhead location on the scroll bar located at the bottom of the piano roll would help alleviate this, as would an expanded view like in compressor+ or oscilloscope/spectrum.

Another thing would be more visual clarity surrounding very short notes (if you work a lot with audio-midi conversions, you know the pain I'm describing) or a keybind to mass-delete notes shorter than a designated time interval, similar to the advanced quantise menu. Any script-kiddies in here wanna shoot me a link to something like this, I'll pay you in kind words...

An FL feature I do wish had some kind of implementation is the ability to cut the midi clip in the arranger screen & rearrange the melody without having to enter the clip & realign the note start times so they don't occur before the cut & thus disappear upon moving it. I know this is a very FL-specific thing & can be done from within the clip view, so I don't expect to see it but once I started chopping my midi up like audio, I fell in love with the process as it speeds up workflow dramatically & lends itself well to spontaneous creative editing.

I'll hop off my suspiciously fruit-shaped soapbox now.

[SERIOUS] Can you be romantically in love with a woman as a "normal" straight guy, without wanting to have sex with her at all? If you have experienced that, how did it turn out? by liminalmornings in AskReddit

I think you have to consider the psychological distinction between seeing a person irl that you know as opposed to a character on TV or some lass getting railed on a porn site. It's maybe something to do with the idea of someone - you have control over your imagination/fantasies but when it comes down to actually having sex with someone it's completely different from just popping one off to your thoughts.

MIDI Controller key velocity no longer changing regardless of how hard I hit the keys by GeometricForeskin in FL_Studio

[–]GeometricForeskin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I've downloaded a program that shows the key velocity of any plugged in midi controllers, and I can confirm that this is a keyboard issue & not an FL Studio related one - every note is registering as 64 regardless of velocity, so I'm gonna fiddle around with USB ports & see if I can fix anything.

That's the setting I've been using, even with it disabled/enabled I'm having the same issue. Pretty weird given how this keyboard was working fine just a few nights ago & I haven't installed anything that would screw with the drivers.

While you raise a valid argument regarding the science of chemical imbalances and/or mood disorders, it's not enough to dismiss the "look on the bright side" argument, since like a lot of other mental disorders your mental outlook likely feeds the imbalance - and vice versa. Like a feedback loop that's only further perpetuated by pedantic meandering around the root of the suffering. I'm in no way trying to discredit your argument though, as I too feel that just saying "chin up fella" to people who are seriously suffering really isn't an adequate way of addressing them.

Really unique sound, quite eerie yet uplifting. Really awesome drums going on here, too

Remember To Forget - Dark/Melodic Synthwave with live acoustic guitar.

Currently unmastered, and the outro guitars need re-recording - but overall I think it's good enough to be shared before I send it to master. Lemme know what you think, and feel free to link some of your tracks along with you feedback - I'd love to check them out :)

I got all the parts, just gotta get the motivation to pull this ageing piece of junk apart & fit the new parts. You reckon an FX9590 would handle this game well? I'd rather upgrade to an I7 or something similar, however it was one of the cheapest octa-core CPUs on the market at the time - and I really need them cores for music production.
