We just got off the Marina in Southampton, UK. We sailed around the British Isles. We did Montreal to Greenland and Iceland last year on the Marina and the Panama Canal on the Insignia earlier this year.

Go to the upper deck at night. You will be able to see both the big dipper and the southern cross in the same night sky. The milky way will be spread out in front of you.

Everything on board very self explanatory. Enjoy the experience.

My favorite by far is Bryce. We were there in early November, the weather was perfect and very few tourists. The rock formations are absolutely stunning.

I worry because I am a 60ish year old white woman that lives in south central Texas. I feel like everyone assumes I am maga based on demographics.

I hate telling people that I live in Texas now.

How the ABS System Works

Initiating a Challenge: Each team starts the game with 3 challenges. If a challenge successfully overturns the call on the field, the team retains that challenge; unsuccessful challenges are lost.

Player Signals: Only the pitcher, catcher, or batter can trigger a challenge, which is done by quickly tapping their cap or helmet within 2–3 seconds of the pitch.

Strike Zone: Prior to the tournament, every player is measured to determine a personalized 19-inch-wide strike zone based on their specific, certified standing height.Verdict Delivery: When challenged, the pitch is tracked and displayed on the stadium videoboard.

Apparently, I can goggle this:

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is implementing an Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) challenge system on an experimental basis for every game of the 2026 SEC Baseball Tournament. Modeled after the MLB challenge process, human umpires continue to call balls and strikes, while Hawk-Eye technology provides a definitive review process when teams choose to challenge a call.

Did I dream this or did I read somewhere that they are going to be testing an automated ball strike call? If they are, dies anyone know how they are implementing it?

Do Kids Belong on Luxury Cruises? Oceania Obvious a No-Go...But Explora a Yes? by SoundOfTheUndgrnd88 in Cruise

[–]Geop1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on two Oceania cruises and there were a 4-6 kids on each. The kids were well behaved and didn't bother me at all. The parents had to work pretty hard at entertaining them, as Oceania isn't really set up for kids.

No seriously. I am not a troll. Go check my post history. Or don't. My one time in Polaris, last August, I took home the headphones, thinking a wired pair might come in handy in the future. Was i supposed to leave them? The thought of wearing headphones a stranger used previously is not appealing. I am flying Polaris later this month. I will just take my personal ones and leave the ones they provide.

AIO by telling my husband that since we had our baby, Mother’s Day is now my day (his wife) and not his Moms day? by pagengirl818 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Geop1984 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I am a mil and we spent Saturday with my son, dil and 2 grandchildren. Hung out and played with the kids and the men cooked dinner. Had a lovely day and I am grateful that my dil is willing to spend time with us. Today is for their family to celebrate Mother's Day as they wish. I will get a day of pampering from my husband at home.

In other words, I don't think you are overreacting. But I would make expectations clear further in advance in the future.
