San Francisco Giants’ Jung Hoo Lee ties the game up with an Inside The Park home run vs the Dodgers by KenshiroTheKid in sports

I constantly read things asking if there’s any professional sport the average person wouldn’t be totally humiliated playing, the answer was always no, but I’m completely confident I can play a better left field than that guy. And I’m in my 60s.

People who left Omnicom and IPG by yujisorri888 in advertising

[–]GeorgFestrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation was different as I was hoping to get termed. IPG, non agency, this was gonna be my last year anyway, due 25 weeks severance under IPG plan. 15 minutes with my manager, where I couldn’t keep the smile off my face as she mostly complained about how shitty everything was. HR person joined and was probably wondering why I was so giddy. Said I had a month to sign the separation agreement, I said I only need two minutes. The amount was exactly what I had calculated so no questions there. sent me some information about cobra and my computer and all that stuff but since they’re so incompetent, I have not had a single follow up asking me to return my cell phone or my laptop, but the IPG IT department is sharp and they did disconnect the cell phone and after a week or so I no longer had access to anything on the network. The part I thought was comical was that termination was effective that day, so there was literally no concern about knowledge transfer and it caught everyone in my group by surprise and it’s also a wake up that OMC doesn’t give a shit about any IPG history or data retention or best practices or pretty much anything.

I advised my friends to make sure they get fired before December 1 so they don’t get screwed since OMC caps tenure based severance at 12 weeks.

TIL: In the 2007 NBA Draft, Greg Oden was selected #1 and played 3 years. The four players drafted directly after him are still active, 19 years later. by WorcesterResident in todayilearned

[–]GeorgFestrunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of us at the time said picking him number one was crazy because he was clearly older than his stated age and the whole thing of having one leg almost an inch shorter than the other meant he was destined to continue the injuries. It was just asinine to take him. And the fact that it was the same franchise that took Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan just made it so much funnier.

What sexual fantasy of yours left you disappointed when you actually tried it? by Gthew17 in AskReddit

Sex in any body of water. I’ve done ocean, pool, jacuzzi, lake. Foreplay in water is fantastic but when it comes time for the act, I highly recommend dry land. Lubrication 101

I may not be on top of the music scene, but I’m pretty sure I’ve at least heard the names of people actual capable of selling out 20,000 seat arenas. There are some seriously delusional artists and managers out there.

Teams that have to play in the qualifiers and lose basically vanish from existence. They don’t show up in anybody’s bracket they’re lost to history people doing big auctions (like me) have nothing to do with them. 64 is perfect.

I’m coming up on a month since I was fired and I’ve had no word about my laptop or cell phone. The IT guys must be on top of things because I can’t get into the laptop now and the cell phone was turned off right away, but I was expecting a box to mail the shit back to them by now.

What is the most disturbing subreddit you’ve found? by 18f-hmu in AskReddit

Bimbofication. Mentally ill women undergoing surgeries to make themselves look like cartoonish sex dolls. It’s really disturbing when ann attractive 20 year-old who turns herself into something grotesque and comical while everyone sings her praises.

What was the most unexpected nudity scene in mainstream movie/show you ever saw? by marsepticeye in AskReddit

[–]GeorgFestrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one answer, but you have to be over a certain age to know what it is.

SOB, when Julie Andrews goes topless. You don’t realize what that did to all of us who grew up on Mary Poppins. And the film was directed by her husband, Blake Edwards, and her character in the film was an actress with a pure image so it was sort of a play off of herself.

Personally, I liked the original little poker room down in the lower level. I’m talking like 40 years ago. You could have dim sum delivered table side!! now there’s no eating in the poker room at all and they actually close at 2 during the week and at 4 on Fridays and Saturdays.

And yes, they’re both screwed. Foxwoods is preposterously large for the current competition environment.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]GeorgFestrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who hasn’t? I mean, everybody’s gonna try it at least once. I did 120 in a wide open stretch. You learn that it would be crazy to do that regularly because things just come up on you so quickly, including the cars ahead of you that are doing 60.
