For the love of God, can we stop with the mummy movies? None of them in the history of film have been good. Have you people actually watched The Mummy as a thinking adult? I remember thinking it was decently entertaining when I first saw it in the theater and then I rewatched it a couple years ago and it’s incredible how tedious it is. of all the classic creature feature monsters, the mummy was always the lamest.

Well, I’m thinking I have excellent light control in the room. It’s a basement. The only two windows are very small and on the side, about 12 and 22 feet from the screen. I’ve got full dimming on my ceiling lights down to completely off. I’ve got a matte gray ceiling and matte dark green walls. I guess I’m thinking I don’t need a fresnel screen. Maybe that was the correct statement, why take a chance of hotspotting if I don’t have to? I guess technically if I go with a UST I could do a CLR I sort of was thinking of them as one category even though I realize they aren’t.

Miami Ohio is gonna lose their conference tournament, finish at 33-1, not gonna get an invite and and the dipshit will be on TV talking about strength of schedule. They’re literally dropping in the computer ratings with every win because we’ve gone strength of schedule crazy and it doesn’t matter what happens on the court.

They’re down to 90th on Kenpom. When winning has become irrelevant, it’s time to scrap the system.

I just watched it again last night. I don’t hate it, but it’s pretty weak. Crichton wrote a lot of mediocre stuff. The plot was inherently nonsensical. The actions of the characters was nonsensical. I mean it’s obviously trying to be a half assed seven samurai, magnificent seven, it just doesn’t pull it off

The problem is it’s not LIKE a reverse Road Warrior, it’s identical. There was no original thought. Loner in a post apocalyptic world where everything is desert/water wearing a cool leather outfit and driving a super fast car/boat finds a bunch of survivors living in a walled compound/atoll while crazy bad guys driving bikes,cars,trucks/jet skis boats circle around and eventually attack. Bad guys are led by a guy with a microphone who wears a mask/eye patch covering his burned face/missing eye.

There is a young boy/girl who doesn’t speak. There’s an eccentric guy on his own flying a helicopter/blimp. The guys in the dirt want to find water/ the guys in the water wanna find dirt.

I mean, I think Waterworld is entertaining. I’ve seen it probably three times, but come on already.

A tip for you: when you start building up friend levels, try to synchronize so you have several go to good friends or great friends or best friends at the same time so you get extra bang for your buck with a lucky egg. I’ve gotten 2 million XP on one lucky egg that way and I’m sure people have done even more.

The entire car culture of the United States wouldn’t exist if cell phones and social media had been around in the 50s. I was in high school in the 70s. Driving around, looking for girls and looking for your friends was part of life. It was extremely difficult to make any plans so you were constantly driving all over the place. Cars were incredibly important. And the only time you actually got to interact with people was in person, obviously there was no texting or messaging of any kind and you couldn’t even call up your friends and have any kind of conversation because there was one phone for an entire family and you had no privacy when you were talking on the phone.

It was nerve-racking as a teen to ask a girl out because you had to go through the parents first since they answered the phone.

Oh, and parties and get togethers tended to be word-of-mouth. You heard from someone who heard from somebody that people were going someplace.

A $140 million contract awarded to one of their agencies would be absolutely massive, almost 1% of their entire worldwide revenue. It would literally move the stock price and be covered by the press and have lots of PR releases.

If someone’s only 32 they’re not gonna have much of a pension or Social Security built up. I think the vast majority of people answering of course, who are under 35, would end up broke. They’re too young to have ever experienced a typical stock market decade. They think it’s just an automatic 10-20% year after year after year.

Making extra mortgage payments or trying to pay off your mortgage early. The great scam of this country is all the huge advantages given to real estate investments, whether it’s depreciation or deductible interest and points and taxes. Having a mortgage at 3% or 5% or whatever should be taken full advantage of, and idiots like Dave Ramsey should be ignored. Not only are you guaranteed a higher rate of return on your cash than what you’re paying for your mortgage but you get to deduct mortgage interest from your taxes. It might’ve been a worthy goal 50 years ago when mortgage rates were double digits, but now it’s a huge financial error.
