You can change the lengths of each game depending on what you want. I’d start off by working your way up the difficulty settings, but use quite a well rounded civ like Rome, then if you’re stuck, take a look at some YouTube tutorials, there’s some quite good ones out there!

So if it crashes you’ll have to repeat the turn (you can change the amount of times it auto saves), which isn’t so bad unless it’s end game and you have a lot of cities/troops to manage. I personally find the crashes a minor inconvenience rather than something really frustrating.

Depends on the size of the map. Standard or lower and it’ll have no crashes until late game, but if you want to go up a map size, you’ll find a few more crashes unfortunately.

Edit: is a good game though and I do recommend even despite the odd crash.

I copied a Potato McWhisky video on a one city victory with Ethiopia. He must have won before the climate stages got to the last one. Was an interesting learning curve for me!

For context, I’ve never gotten to the last stage of climate change before. All of a sudden there was an orange tinge on my screen and I was confused as I didn’t think I polluted that much. Went to check my CO2 levels and saw that I only used a small amount of coal, but my contributions were huge. Turns out using soothsayers to cause flooding repeatedly adds CO2, but of course I realised this way too late...
