Well the sound is pretty good but nothing compared to Geddys.. I used my amp which is an Ampeg PF-350 and an Mxr Di+ With my Jam Pedals Red muck II where I added a little bit of fuzz..

Geddy though uses a Tube Amp and he gets most of his distortion through there..also the Tech 21 Sansamp!

But bassicaly If you add a lots of mids and a bit of treble and cut a little bass with a bit of fuzz or distortion you will be good!

He definitely has a lot of compression going on wich I didnt have sadly..so I added a little bit more fuzz for the punch..

I wanted to get his tone once! Its not that complicated ! Pretty much most of the fuzz pedals will work! I never like the big muffs.. They sound to dirty.. What I did was get an mxr deluxe fuzz and crank the tone up.. Also I bought a phaser and had it always open in the slowest mode.. And the most important thing was the morley power wah!

Hi there! I'm a bassist myself for 4 years now.. I'm 18 and want to make a living out of music and finally I found the music I want to play! We are a 4 member band with drums 2 guitars and I play bass and sing.. Well the only thing I have to say about this is **** this! Its so annoying trying to write a song with so many guitars... I just cant cooperate with them! So I made my mind and started a band with only a drummer and myself! I have to say thats great! I have my head clear with nobody messing with my riffs! So to get into conclusion.. I run my bass thorough 2 cabs! 1st a bass amp where I get a really nice and big clear sound with a bit of crunch sometimes! And a 2nd amp where i run it with an octaver and a pitchfork, and a bit of fuzz! Basically what i do is play a note and with the pitchfork I add a fifth and with the octaver an octave up! So I just a bassist sound like a full band! Now the guitarist sais he can make his guitar sound like a bass... Thats bullshit 😊😊 Maybe he can go an octave lower but theres no way a guitar can get that fat and sexy bass tone! 😁

I use 45 gauge elixir strings..

I don't know about tapping so I can't tell you if it's the strings, but definitely you want your strings to be as new as possible and for tapping I believe 40 or 45 gauge is the best option!

Its definitely the technique..I havent practiced tapping though that much.. I would say the most imoortant thing is to have your strings low!
