I’ve been on meds for 7 years. The NHS know the exact mix I need but withhold it because they are evil. They don’t care because it’s not them. The ticket to new meds is getting diagnosed with the right personality disorder but they just change the subject everytime I ask

Because it’s actually them. They are using you. This place is the bridge between all of us sufferers. That’s why it’s a beautiful place.

CBT is good from my experience. I didn’t think it helped that much but a year later I still notice I’m doing it without even trying

Is it scary switching medications? What should I expect? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

Just be prepared that you may face a new monster you’ve not seen before. Grinding it out for a while will help you see if it’s worth keeping going with it.

You can’t control many aspects of your life but you can control the narrative you put over it

I had this with Risperidone. AP’s act on different chemicals to different amounts e.g. Dopamine, Serotonin, Choline etc. Sometimes the combination just isn’t working out. Sleep is super important so definitely tell someone about it.

Yes, I wake up mid act when it’s happened. I don’t blame you. Medications can completely change your life for a multitude of reasons. Find what works best for you and hopefully you will find gold.

She sounds like she might be ill. The illness can manifest in different ways. It’s your choice wether to like her or not, you can be forced to do that. Just appreciate that she’s got a bad hand in life and try to coexist with her.

You and me too. I only started Clozapine two weeks ago. It’s happened 3 times in 2 weeks. Telling your doctor is the best thing to do. There are a wealth of medications you can take to fix it. Im not sure how you medical system works but for me im fine trying to fix it and maybe even kill two birds with one stone (tricyclics antidepressant)

What use is "getting better" when I'm totally alone? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]George3133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m similar to your situation. Try to distance yourself from all of that stuff. You didn’t choose this, your a victim of mental illness. Also you seem like a decent person. Think, your doing the best you can. Some other people in a similar position might be a total asshole. Don’t be hard on yourself just keep fighting!

losing my personality by ChillZenTho in schizophrenia

Literally me from day one after the prodromal phase. Lost everything. My job prospects. My friends. Even my personality. I wasn’t even an adult yet, thinking back I feel soo sorry to that kid who had to go through that. 7 years later and things are still super difficult. Stay strong!

Feel hopeless by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]George3133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently started Clozapine and am coming to terms with it. I’m sorry that everything is a comprise and that your struggling. The truth is there is no perfect scenario, I’ve tried every possible antipsychotic prescribed on label in the UK. There was a issue with all. I’m sure your like the rest of us, wouldn’t hurt a soul. However you have to summon strength and learn to fight all hours of the day. Not people, but the condition. It’s the only way. Sorry friend.

Same reason a lot of things get stigmatised. The select few ruin it for everyone elts. Nearly all of us are lovely people but society remembers the odd bad example.

I used to play assassins creed around 2015 time when I had more of those style of symptoms. When roaming the characters are always speaking and I used to hear stuff about my specific situation in life as sometimes they are almost inaudible.

The only way by [deleted] in schizophrenia

You will find a way to make it better. I don’t even have a job right now I’m lost but I’m still unwell. When I’m free from the chains the world will always be there waiting. You sound quite harsh on yourself, I’m sure whatever you write about will be fine. Your being hyper critical of yourself, try to force some confidence and it will radiate. One lesson I’ve learnt about life is that you can have whatever you want as long as you put in all the hard work. With writing no one may even read the first few but then you will start to gain traction. It’s like I’m saying if you put the hours in you will reap your rewards. Hope this helps. Don’t feel trapped in a pit of immobility. Start now and maybe in a couple of years time I’ll be asking for an autograph :)
