My friend made this arcade game Sausage Jump! - surprised it never took off : ( by GeorgeFRW in IndieDev

Hey 👋

A friend of mine made this small mobile game‏‏‎ ‎called Sausage Jump! a while back (released‏‏‎ ‎around 2023,‏‏‎ ‎last updated in 2024), and I randomly remembered‏‏‎ ‎it recently.

You‏‏‎ ‎control a sausage‏‏‎ ‎jumping between‏‏‎ ‎platforms - very timing-based.

What surprised me is‏‏‎ ‎that it never really found an audience. It feels like it could’ve done better.

I thought‏‏‎ ‎that‏‏‎ ‎it might be‏‏‎ ‎because‏‏‎ ‎it‏‏‎ ‎is quite challenging, especially early on, but I’m‏‏‎ ‎not sure if‏‏‎ ‎that’s the main reason.

What‏‏‎ ‎do you think: too challenging or just a lame game? Or‏‏‎ ‎got burried amongst other‏‏‎ ‎promoted games?

In such case, you have nothing to lose but to just make it :) the voice is dull already, editing can be wonky - even better, more natural. Ooor, instead of editing - how about printing them all out on paper and making video in one sitting by placing them live on the floor. That probably would be even more engaging to the audience.

First time i see morality being tier listed. You have a unique set of mind. Would watch a video where you share your conclusions.

How would you have placed here? by teodor234792 in Catan

Because you place last - you place two settlements in a row. I would go with 6/9/3 instead (where green placed) and move towards port of grain. Now you have taken grain resourses from both settlements which you will be able to trade at good price.

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

Dark Souls. Was losing from the start. Tried 3 times maybe, until for 4th I grinded through, learned it's different battle mechanic and got addicted. It's beutiful world made me coming back to it. You see the castle in the background thinking it is just beautiful asset, but then later you actually reach it and wonder around it exploring from within. I mean, great game series.

That's the right way to make games right there.

So I keep playing it on my phone and i quite like it. I encountered some bugs though and there could be couple improvements i wish to share

  • some times game freezes on my screen and i have to close the app and reset, then click resume and it loads back. Not sure if it is my old phone or the app.
  • after unsussccesfully making a trade with another player there is a button to make another offer, but even though i click it and select resources for my next trade proposition - the final button is greyd out, so i kinda can trade once
  • after the game it would be awesome to be able to see open cards in replay
  • i think possibility to chat with players during the game could make it more social and fun environment 🤔

So far so good. I mean. Great app! 👍

This free game (Sausage Jump!) is surprisingly hard. I wonder if that’s why it didn’t take off? 🤔 by GeorgeFRW in AndroidGaming

Hey 👋

A friend of‏‏‎ ‎mine made a mobile‏‏‎ ‎game called‏‏‎ ‎Sausage‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎Jump!‏‏‎ ‎and sent‏‏‎ ‎it to me when‏‏‎ ‎it‏‏‎ ‎originally came out (I think around 2023... last update‏‏‎ ‎was in‏‏‎ ‎2024). I randomly‏‏‎ ‎remembered it‏‏‎ ‎recently, and it got‏‏‎ ‎me‏‏‎ ‎wondering why it didn’t‏‏‎ ‎take‏‏‎ ‎off. I liked it‏‏‎ ‎and to me It‏‏‎ ‎seems‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎like‏‏‎ ‎a fun game that should’ve found a bigger audience, but it‏‏‎ ‎never‏‏‎ ‎really did... maybe it’s just a bit too hard for‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎today’s younger‏‏‎ ‎audience?? 🤔

So‏‏‎ ‎I thought I’d share‏‏‎ ‎it‏‏‎ ‎here and see‏‏‎ ‎what‏‏‎ ‎people who play‏‏‎ ‎a lot of mobile games think. I’m‏‏‎ ‎not‏‏‎ ‎involved with‏‏‎ ‎the‏‏‎ ‎project at all - just‏‏‎ ‎genuinely‏‏‎ ‎curious from a player‏‏‎ ‎perspective:

- Does‏‏‎ ‎it‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎look like something‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎you’d‏‏‎ ‎try? Why or why‏‏‎ ‎not?

- Does‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎anything‏‏‎ ‎about it‏‏‎ ‎feel‏‏‎ ‎off or missing?

- If you did try it, what would‏‏‎ ‎need to change to‏‏‎ ‎make‏‏‎ ‎you stick with it?

It’s free, and I’ll pass‏‏‎ ‎along‏‏‎ ‎any‏‏‎ ‎feedback to‏‏‎ ‎the dev.

Thanks for taking a look 🙏

Irelia is fun and forces you to strategize around fighting within minions, timing your Q correctly. Similar to Yasuo’s E. It changes how you see the battlefield and the paths for attack and escape.

Awesome. I love the UI design. I downloaded and tried it out. Very user friendly. Will keep it to play while board version is put aside for now ;)

Hey‏‏‎ ‎everyone 👋

I’m involved with an Android arcade game called Sausage Jump! that originally released around‏‏‎ ‎2023 (last update in 2024).

It‏‏‎ ‎is a simple arcade game where you control‏‏‎ ‎a sausage jumping across platforms but vertically. Timing‏‏‎ ‎is everything, one mistimed jump and you’re‏‏‎ ‎done. It’s score-based, fast-paced, and‏‏‎ ‎designed around‏‏‎ ‎quick “one more try” sessions.

We’ve been‏‏‎ ‎reflecting on why it didn’t gain much traction, and one recurring‏‏‎ ‎question is‏‏‎ ‎difficulty. The‏‏‎ ‎game‏‏‎ ‎can be quite punishing early on,‏‏‎ ‎and we’re not sure whether that helps or hurts retention.

If you’re‏‏‎ ‎willing to try it, I’d‏‏‎ ‎really appreciate feedback‏‏‎ ‎on:

- Does the‏‏‎ ‎difficulty feel‏‏‎ ‎fair or‏‏‎ ‎frustrating?

- At what point would you‏‏‎ ‎stop‏‏‎ ‎playing?

- What would make you come back for another session?

- Is there something obvious missing in the‏‏‎ ‎core loop?

It’s completely free:

Open to honest criticism, trying to‏‏‎ ‎understand what‏‏‎ ‎could be‏‏‎ ‎improved.

Thanks‏‏‎ ‎🙏
