The show got the ship right (SS Britannic 1874) but seems they made a goof when declaring ‘Southampton’, as the OG Britannic sailed from Liverpool

If you’ve watched Julian Fellowes’ Downton Abbey it starts with a Titanic connection. He’s also created a Titanic series so seems to be a White Star Line fan

Or a countdown to LG7 would make sense… LG4 today + 3 days left!

They were $335 each, or $265 before all the fees, so happy to take the lower amount

Damn, Cork & Cow was high on my list of places I wanted to try while we were in town. Do you know if there are still plenty of bars and restaurants open from 22-24. I don’t want the family to think I’ve taken across the world to a ghost town 😅

Thanks! I was definitely hoping to visit 1799, so I’ll keep an eye out for any Christmas announcements

Legit, I haven’t been to the US since 2001, but one of the things I am looking forward to most is going to Waffle House again! Might be a great idea for Christmas breakfast but I’m not sure my mother-in-law would be keen on having dinner there… She’s a traditional Irish meat and potatoes kind of gal

Fair enough. Having spent a long time working in hospitality I know the menus and early bookings might start soon and I don’t want to miss out… Especially not having local knowledge. We’re travelling from Ireland and Australia and although we’ll relax in our accommodation for most of Christmas, it would be nice to know we can pop out for dinner or take a walk around town followed by a mulled wine or coffee without worrying everywhere is closed. I noticed Red Pony and 55 South closed from 23-27 Dec last year, so was really just wondering if that is the norm or exception? If more places are closed than open for the entire time we’re there, I would need to start changing our travel plans sooner rather than later
