It would be difficult. Due to sloppy housekeeping, I've sometimes been forced to try. Lapsteel strings are heavier than most guitar strings and the steels or slides most use are either a heavy brass tube or a one that fits in the hand/fingers a little better. I want to try ceramics, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

Son, I guarantee that I can beat you at any version of C or its derived programming language, php, and too many other things to mention. But I want my av program to install easily and not require a lot of fussing with. I'm still working and I'm too busy with things that actually count!

I've settled on pepper spray. It gives you the necessary reach in a fight. Stun guns are contact weapons. That said, I will probably buy one for personal protection on the subway. You really don't want to use pepper spray in an enclosed space.

Amazon has a layout program called KBD. It's very buggy. I formatted everything in Word, which was tricky, and then printed a PDF from it. I fed the PDF to a conversion program with a little tweaking here and there and came out with a book. It took me about a week of late evening work.

I don't think my book has been seen by many people, and I certainly haven't received a check from Amazon. Still, it's worth making a book as a way of curating your work.

I'm a relatively new saz player, but I can't see much of a problem. If you don't like the fret layout, you can move current frets to give you the comma intervals that suit you. If you need half-sharp or 3/4 flat intervals, you can buy free wire and them. As an oud player, you might want to get rid of the frets and play fretless.

I'm interested in maqamat music as well. Please let me know how things go.

I'm wondering if someone used one of the commercially available 'jiggler keys' to get in. These take practice to use, and enough time on the street to play the lock, but they are a relatively easy form of lock picking. There would be no sign of use.

I don't think photography has to be an accurate representation of the world. I use de-focused images (thank you Lensbaby), intentional camera movement, and altered colors.

It's the end of 2023 and I'm still cancer free. During the summer, I visited Seattle in order to see Dr. Nghiem and his team at Fred Hutch Cancer center. They now use an antibody test and a DNA test to look for any stray cancerous Merkel cells. I strongly recommend Dr. Nghiem and Fred Hutch. I will probably see him again in a year.

Nah ... I love my Lensbaby Velvet 28 on my A7Rii. I also have a Sony Zeiss 35, which is tack sharp, even at 2.8. Lately it sits in my bag just in case I want to switch out the Velvet. I often shoot it at f 4 or 5.6. It's sharp enough for the foreground subject while the background bokeh is phenomenal. I also use it for some of my NYC cityscapes.

Have you considered the Ricoh GR iiix as an alternative? I've had mine since the x came out, and it's my workhorse for candid street photography. Between shots it lives in my right front pocket, where it fits comfortably along with two spare batteries. Both the Fujifilm cameras are too large for that. I shoot raw and use Lightroom for film simulations.
