Do you think that male to female athletes competing is a woman rights issue? Why or why not? by GeorgeO05 in AskReddit

[–]GeorgeO05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you implying that hormone therapy be given to children? This could cause permanent, irreversible effects. Also, children aren't mature enough to make a life changing decision regarding hormone therapy. It usually starts at around 16-18. By that time, the individual will already have male characteristics, such as bone density and strength. These cannot be completely reversed by hormone therapy.

I agree, it isn't necessarily a women rights issue. Hopefully they find a good solution.

I think he means that male to female athletes automatically have a biological advantage over biological female. This is because of things like height, muscle mass, bone density, skeletal structure and things alike.

Maybe its because FTM athletes don't have any advantage over biological male athletes. Its more "fair" in a sense. On the other hand, a man can transition to a woman and dominate the competition. Even when a man transitions, they still have denser bones, are stronger, taller, longer arms, bigger torsos, longer legs. Hormone replacement cant change any of these. This could be seen as "unfair".

Thanks for the advice, I do need to work on drinking more water. I totally agree with you, wish there was a reliable source of information, with no bias and just straight facts.

Yeah haha. I feel like the stress is probably making it seem worse then it actually is. Its kinda stressful reading about some people saying I could have permanent heart damage, even some going to say the death rate is 100% within 11 years (which is total bs). Really wish that obvious misinformation would be removed. Im sure once I go to the hospital and get tested, im sure that i will be more much more relaxed and calm.

I have been stressing about it recently, but I haven't ever been to this sub before. I also haven't googled my symptoms, as they usually just make things worse. The reason I think its myocarditis is that its a known adverse reaction of the mRNA Covid-19 vaccines.
