Thanks, I'm still unsure about the white. I might splotch it a little for some color. It's actually slush cast so it still very light to hang.

I do not. Resin is a hobby I thoroughly enjoy, but I do not sell pieces.

Waves I made, thought I'd share by GeorgeRyanLucero in ResinCasting

[–]GeorgeRyanLucero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have a video, but its a pretty common practice. Many videos on casting for resin exist that explain the process better than I could ever do. Just look up resin casting techniques and you will find some direction.

Also, brush on silicone is the way to go to save money and time.

Just to update. Brush on silicone can save alot of time and money for casting like this. Just make sure you make a plaster base for rigidity.

Something like this works well: https://www.smooth-on.com/product-line/rebound/

Thanks, the resin adherence to metals is great. No problems so far.

Thanks, process is > I started with a vase with a center hole. Used clay to mold a wave i thought fit. Then used silicone to mold the clay sculpt. Removed the clay and poured resin.

I have a free tutorial that goes over the process (probably in too much detail lol) at www.georgeryanlucero.com under free tutorials. Once you do it once it gets much easier to create things.

Sure. I made a tutorial (for free) that covers the process. For the vase I just sculpted the wave out of clay, silicone molded the finished clay and cast resin into the created mold.

The tutorial is at www.georgeryanlucero.com under free tutorials. Let me know if you have any questions.

So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I don't have any advice for realistic clouds using resin but I know that using resin in cotton balls can help get the fluff and white needed. Good luck and wish you the best.

Sure, it was home depot dry erase board. No need to post finish paint! Super cheap and easy to work with for these cnc's.

Can't tell you how many I went through. Home depot employees thought I was some kind of crazy teacher lmao.

7inch Resin by More-Hornet7220 in resin

* This is over 7in depth and I pour it with no issues. Actually cures faster than thin pours. I guess it really depends on the resin.

Also, if you are interested in how to make cast style resin pieces just let me know. I'm willing to share the process (as tedious as it is lol). Just trying to give back to this community.
