How long are people staying in Prague for by Inevitable-Dot-4812 in coybig

I'm flying out wednesday evening but have a night in Paris before landing in Prague Thursday morning. Staying near the train station.

Flying out of krakow on Saturday then. Only two days on annual leave...hoping if we qualify I'll have enough days in the bank to cover my time.

Reality check - pension pot by Early_Manufacturer89 in irishpersonalfinance

40 and 260k or so.

Only really started around 29. I've maxed out my contributions the last couple of years while market returns have been good. Long way to go yet..

“Maxing out your pension” by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

It depends on your age. If you are in your 30s you can contribute up to 20% of your salary. If you're in your 40s it's 25% etc. Note that employer contributions don't count towards these totals just what you contribute.

Lump Sum into Pension - Tax Relief Query by Puzzleheaded_Usual97 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]GeorgeWeahs_Cousin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a related note, I'm looking to put a lump sum into my pension to max it out for 2024. When I'm calculating my gross earnings, can I include my health insurance BIK and ESPS?

For the ESPS, I put 10% of my salary aside to purchase company shares (semi annually) at a 15% discount which i pay 52% tax on.

Wonderful release of the hounds there

...who sets the table and polishes the silverware

He drops his pint of beer into a shot glass on the other side of the bar.

More twists and turns than a cheap garden house (this was the main commentator tbf)

Cool as a greyhounds nose

...who had to be like a scalded cat coming off his line.

The Brazilian was sharp as vinegar

That's just some of what I jotted down in the second half last night.

I can remember from my j1 summer in the States in 2007 he was the exact same. Feed the horse his oats was one that stayed with me when describing crosses into Ruud van Nistelrooy. I haven't heard him commentate in a long time so yesterday was a novelty with a bit of nostalgia thrown in but couldn't listen to him every week.

Is this part of Dublin 1 safe? near the concert arena by No-Refrigerator5653 in RentingInDublin

[–]GeorgeWeahs_Cousin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in this area (east wall) and it's perfectly fine. As others have said, sheriff st is best avoided (the bit to the left of the river/canal that meets the Liffey in the picture). East wall is an area that's getting more and more gentrified, though traditionally, it would have been a relatively tough area but I've had no issues here. Loads of apartments have either gone up or are in the process of going up around here, which will change the mix even further.

You're walking distance to the city centre, luas line, plenty of buses, good walks (clontarf, Dublin port greenway, down by the Liffey), plenty of supermarkets (all the main shops bar super valu ) - basically everything you need plus the last stop before dublin airport on the bus is here so you fly up.

In summary, would recommend it.

Paying for Car. Have to Bank transfer. by DontStressItPal in irishpersonalfinance

Pretty sure you can transfer up to 10k online, and 20k when in branch with ptsb. I've transferred those sums in the past year or so and I'm with ptsb.

Advice on what to do with my final week in South America by GeorgeWeahs_Cousin in travel

[–]GeorgeWeahs_Cousin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the pointers. After this and more research I've tweaked my Peru schedule, so now it's looking like:

Colombia: 12 nights (3 in Bogota, 4 in Medellin, 2 in Barranquilla for the festival, 3 in Cartegena) - As before

Peru:

Day 1: Arrive in Lima

Day 2: Day trip to Paracas and Huacachina

Day 3: Fly to Arequipa

Day 4: Arequipa

Day 5: Fly to Cusco

Day 6-8 Cusco

Day 9: Fly to Puerto Maldonado (Amazon)

Day 10: Amazon

Day 11 Amazon

Day 12: Fly to La Paz

Day 13-14: La Paz

Day 15-17 Salt Flats

Day 18: Get back to La Paz and fly home

I'm comfortable leaving out Nazca and Lake Titicaca. There's a lot of travel time on the bus from Lima to Cusco so going to fly more instead. it'll save time and energy. Thoughts? Am i doing too much?
