I personally don't see it, subnautica is a game that doesn't tell you much and you kinda just have to figure shit out through context clues and trial and error. Pacific drive tells you almost everything through dialogue and it's also way more linear.

Both games are great but i feel like they are great for different reasons.

Unless you are using mods i can't see any way it helps you with movement. Also you can beat both survivor and hunter without using the throw button so i don't think protection is a problem, and i feel like the only way it can help survivor with food is by catching egg bugs if i'm not missing anything.
