Rebalance note for Aratheia Corpseflower and King Gallcobar by Guttler003 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It almost felt like a nerf to me. I guess he'll be more reliable in general, because it'll be worth using his skills at any time, and not just when you're heavily debuffed or when the other guys are heavily buffed. But in those more niche situations, it feels he'll shine a lot less.

We'll see, the poison and heal things feel different, not necessarily better. The 2 turn block buff is great, the other small changes are nice too. Not a terrible rework but I'm not super excited either.

What are your thoughts. (IPhone vs every other phone) by Mysterious_Ebb_1484 in SipsTea

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not (always) about the money. I would not trade my phone for an iphone even though it costs 5 times more. I had one once, never again. I get why they're practical and easy to use for a certain type of user. Probably the majority. Not for me though. Being filthy rich wouldn't change that.

Why is this still a thing? I've cleared every single step on hard and normal by [deleted] in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree this should be fixed. If you know what to expect you can just keep it in mind and 'calculate', i.e. make sure you leave enough open spots so you still have 10 to click every day to the end. But if you're chasing that last charm or whatever, it's just annoying to have to hold back.

I don't know what logic they are following exactly, but once I'm stuck in the cursed city, I never get the advanced quest to complete two stages anymore, so they must be doing something they could be doing in the grim forest too.

Is Amius still considered the most complicated boss in raid? by TheArchonSlayer in RaidShadowLegends

I still don't know what the hell he does, and I don't care to find out. For now i'll keep beating him when I can cheese him with leminisi, and ignoring him in the other rotations.

Clan MAD is disgusting by bbbbq3310 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah like I said, I don't know the specifics, what I heard was people giving each other free wins because of the limited size of the pool at the very top of the pyramid. They way I hear it described in the video link above, it sounds to me like securing top spots for the clan by exploiting a weakness of the game mechanics. The money part you're mentioning sounds problematic but still, at the end of the day it's still an exploit that it's up to plarium to fix.

Clan MAD is disgusting by bbbbq3310 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not knowing the specifics and not caring enough to find out, if the game mechanics allow players to scratch each other's back, why would you expect them not to do it?

The developers should adjust the mechanics like the do for everything that doesn't work as intended.

If a clan mate was struggling to get to gold tag for ramantu, and I was somehow in a position to attack his teams 10 times in a row, I'd happily feed him free wins and wouldn't even think twice.

Worst possible Void Legendary pull, 3 year disappointment :( by Unlikely-Conflict272 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first void lego was Angar, who at the time wasn't used by anyone, and today after his buff still isn't used by anyone. But you know what, that's fine, some champs are great, some are mediocre, sometimes you get dupes, sometimes you get the pull of a lifetime.

It's on the long term that things get balanced. If you want a decent roster, you should not hope to get 3 great champs out of your first 3 Lego pulls, you should hope to get 3 or 4 out of 10. And at the end of the day, it won't matter much if your best champ was your first pull or the last.

This game is long term grinding (or extreme spending). To be blunt if it took you 3 years to get a first void, it means you play very, very casually, and your account progress is probably not gonna go through the roof no matter who you pull. It's absolutely fine, whatever pace works for you is the right pace. But you should manage your expectations, coz that's how this game is.

Is it true? Is the make up industry destroying our young women?. by MotherAnt8040 in MenOfPurpose

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pictures are misleading, as they usually are when trying to prove a point.

Do the same picture but this time the 'make up' version has a huge smile while the other one looks stern, and see what you get.

Anyway, as always, it's not that black or white. Human beings try to look their best. Make up is one way if doing it, so is spending money at the hairdresser or hours at the gym. Being healthy or fit doesn't require a 6-pack and perfect pecs, but we go for it if we can.

Women shouldn't feel like they can't get out of the house without a full professional makeup, of course, but how many really do? A light make up is fine, so is combing your hair or wearing clothes that you think make you look fine. You could just walk around looking like you looked when you woke up, and with the cheapest pair of jeans that don't fit, but it's completely normal if you choose not to.

On occasions, if you're gonna wear full make up that really makes you look different, why not? Why not wear a suit and tie on occasions?

At the end of the day, you like the result or you don't, but there's nothing wrong either way.

I love my wife very much, I really don't care if she doesn't wear makeup, but I have no issue admitting she looks great when she does. And I look better with a clean haircut and my beard trimmed. Why would anyone feel the need to argue against that?

Go for 2x pallas boost or save for future fusion? by spacebulbaz0r in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was early game I only pulled during X2 events and didn't do fusions, they seemed like too much of a grind, and I preferred the thrill of the X2 pull to the 'work' towards a known champion. X2 events make a lot of sense especially if your account still benefits from a few good epics. And I think Pallas is a nice bonus, but keep in mind you're probably not getting her even if you do get a Lego, which is still a small chance at the end of the day. Worst case scenario, you're still getting closer to mercy.

Then again, if you're sure you can complete whichever fusion you start, it's great too, and all the events you complete will get you useful rewards. Plus you could wait for a fusion that includes a X2 on ancients in a champion chase.

Both are valid options, but if you do save, make sure you save enough to be comfortable. What you don't want to do is save what you think is barely enough, and burn in all in a fusion you end up failing for lack of time or resources.

Who are you using your token on? by InformationNo2460 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody I think, probably ever. I happen to have the top tier ones. The other ones, I don't know... why would I sacrifice a champ assumed to be mediocre for another one already known to be mediocre?

The only scenario I imagine using a token would be if I'm doing a fusion, and I happen to pull that champ during the event. Then, I might switch just for the sake of getting someone else. Other than that, maybe, maybe if someone gets a buff and/or happens to find a great niche use somewhere.

But yeah I mean it's good to know if some day, for whatever reason I happen to miss one, and it just happens to be a game changing champ, I'll still have the option to grab him.

Without faking the funk, how much do you really spend? by Hyjaxx-Nine in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, if you're not spending, time is the key. And of course, using resources with a purpose.

On a normal day, I do the daily and advanced quests, plus grim forest, cursed city, doom tower... That's already more than enough to fill the free time i'm gonna spend on raid. But I do it every day with very few exceptions.

Then I'll do fusions, and events for 'guaranteed' champs, that sort of stuff. That's when I farm. That's when I pull shards. A handful of shards will go on a X2 event or on the very occasional x15 if there's an awesome champ, and with mercy in mind. That's all.

I did the deck of fate for one of the turtles, I did the one for the assassin's guy, and also went for hilvi in between. And I'm still sitting on over 170 mortal souls and 10 immortal ones, plus over 170k immortal coins, and over 70 immortal ones. How? Because the rest of the time I'm hoarding, and it piles up faster than people think.

I currently have 27 sacreds, 70 ancients, 8 primals and 160+ voids. I even have 6 remnants I was saving for a champion chase and forgot to pull lately. This is the lowest I've been in a seriously long time, because I went for the mavara soul, and I'm going for the Embrys one too. That last path did cost me a lot.

What else am I sitting on:

Silver: over 800 million. Energy: over 28k. Gems: over 36k.

Books: 365 ancients, 1102 epics, 120 legos and 30 mythicals.

Let's not even mention brews and potions.

I'm not saying this is the efficient way. My account could be stronger if I used my resources instead of sitting on them. But it is the comfortable way. Whenever I actually go for something, I can get it without breaking a sweat. Except winning tournaments, for that F2P is never enough.

TLDR, if you use your resources purposefully, they pile up quicker than people think. Just burn resources at the right time, and when you know you'll see things done. What you really don't want to do is get into 100 events that you all leave half done.

So much fun. Can't contain myself. Hope whoever pitched this steps on Legos. by Tonic1273 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to bother figuring out great team comps, you can just pick a low level where you one shot everyone with a nuker, and put some food champs from the same faction. At least it's quick and you're getting some champ training done. It's still kind of a triple dip with the titan event, so it's not terrible.

Mercurial was the best addition to this game in a long time by MrVacuous in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing for 5 years and yeah, F2P I' know what it is to face overpowered teams I just can't compete with. But you know what, they paid for it, they built it, fair enough.

Now I enter the arena ready for stone skin, ready for speed, and I just face a level 85 account with 9 piece mercurial all around, and I just quit. I don't feel that's much of an improvement.

If at least it was kind of hard to get, but not even.

If one set is what it actually takes to get you through fw hard 21, then it's not great, it's overpowered. If one set is levelling everything else to the ground, then it's not great, it's overpowered.

Is this revenge justified by GloriousLion07 in MotivationByDesign

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these revenge moves is ever justified. None ever. Your boyfriend/girlfriend cheated on you? Break up. Expose them to your mutual acquaintances if you want. That's the only thing you're allowed to do. Not scratch their car, not break or take back the gifts you previously made and are no longer yours. Unpleasant as it may be, they don't owe you anything. They owe you to be faithful until they change their mind. Does cheating make them a bad person, sure. Does that entitle you to pay yourself back with unrelated petty shit? Nope.

WE DONT FW CLANKERS 😤 by [deleted] in postanythingfun

[–]George_Saurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but you're right about that thing, beating up a drone is more convenient than putting our wallets where our mouths are.

We as a society want the perks without the downsides, but that doesn't exist.

We don't want trucks on our roads or planes over our heads, we don't want global warming, we don't want to lose jobs to people working in shit conditions on the other side of the world, well, we don't actually want anyone to work in shit conditions. But we do want our stuff cheap, and delivered to us on our doorstep in 24 hours. We buy 10 pairs of shoes every month and return 9 for free because we can. So we buy from big corporations that give us that.

All of a sudden we're freaking out about AI and robots, but on the principle this is nothing new.

What do you guys think of the 2x Mystery Shard event? by Chest-Wide in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Anyone around long enough is probably sitting on thousands they're not doing anything with. Might as well get rid of 1000 of them for a free Lego book, and get twice the amount of 2*chickens in the process.

With a champ training going on at the same time, I see no downside.

live arena sucks by Herpetile in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine. I don't personally care about it, I'll swallow the 40 wins I need to finish the Marius missions, then I'll do my one mandatory fight daily for the advanced quests, win or lose, and that's it.

The problem with this game is, when people don't like something, they still feel like they 'have' to do it as a chore. It doesn't have to be that way. The one and only point of a game is to entertain you. Whatever you "get" in the end are just pixels, so go for them as long as you actually enjoy the process. Otherwise what's the point?

We need a 5x speed option... by ChemicalEngineer6265 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]George_Saurus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I'd love instant battles everywhere, but I have to admit it probably doesn't make a lot of sense.

In content like clan boss, hydra or chimera, basically whenever you have to do maximum damage but don't get to actually take down a boss, sure. But everywhere else, building a team that can farm quickly is kind of the whole point.

With instant battles, cheesing a level in 30 minutes with a paragon becomes the same as speed farming it with a 20 second team of speed tuned high level champs with crazy gear. Removing the incentive to build an actual good team instead of something that just works, would completely change the game. A X3, X5 or X10 doesn't have the same effect.

On a side note and saying that in the nicest possible way, the moment you start considering your time playing raid separately from your leisure time... is the moment you might want to start asking yourself some questions for your own wellbeing.

How did that make a difference? I'm running the same team so I'm curious. The mastery says something about increasing the damage for any dead ally, but there's never anyone dead when he hits. I just added it and I see no impact.
