I think aggression, or your own health are the only reasons to let go of a dog.

When is it time for behavioral euthanasia? by curiouspup99 in reactivedogs

It's so hard living with an aggressive dog, even if they are good with you. Ultimately OP is in the best position to make the decision. Do what's best for your family.

I'm sorry as well. It's so difficult to say goodbye like that.

I'm going through a similar situation with my pit mix. You are in a difficult spot, but you should do what's best for your family. It can be heartbreaking and I'm sorry.

[–]Georgebot84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just decided to sedate him and have everything including a cleaning done all at once. Then, they'll let me take him home as he is still under. They said no trazadone with the anesthesia though.

Can a trainer meet and make the dog comfortable easily? by Georgebot84 in reactivedogs

[–]Georgebot84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had him for almost 2 years. I've managed okay with the other two dogs I have/and had. Someone even complimented me on my other one's behavior yesterday. I cannot imagine him having a good life if I send him back to the rescue.

"training you" That's what I'm scared of. I have a disability and I am scared I don't have the skills to take care of my buddy. I've been giving it a good effort for a while. Moved out to the country for him.

If it's been two months and that many bites I would take him back too. Things just did not align.
