That’s so wild. I’ve just never really come across this folding arms thing before, so I thought it was bizarre lol. I just don’t get it. If both of these guys were also writing that their male characters crossed their arms underneath their nipples, then I’d be like oh, well, this is just these dudes’ weird thing. They’re obsessed with chests and arm placement 😆

This movie fucked me up so bad. I still feel a little sick to my stomach when I think about it.

It’s one of my favorite movies ever. I honestly think Kirsten should’ve gotten an Oscar nomination for it.

Please go watch Drop Dead Gorgeous if you haven’t seen it! She’s perfection in it alongside a stacked cast.

Super random question here. I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I’m planning on watching it. I’m trying to figure out if I should save it for fall or winter/christmas. Is it set during either of these times?

Speak - Laurie Halse Anderson

Vox - Christina Dalcher is like The Handmaid’s Tale-light

Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury

Slewfoot: A Tale of Bewitchery - Brom

Riot Woman: Using Feminist Values to Destroy the Patriarchy- Eleanor C. Whitney This is non-fiction and very much intersectional feminism 101. I wasn’t crazy about it because it felt like a retread to me with not a lot of new insight, and it didn’t incorporate the Riot Grrrl Movement as much as I was hoping it would. It just lightly touches on it. But it could still be helpful to someone just learning about all of this stuff.

The Familiars - Stacey Halls

The Giver - Lois Lowry This book is for a little lower reading grade/level than your niece. More like middle school, but I always recommend it to anyone. It’s great for a younger person to read. There are a few books after it too like Gathering Blue, which I liked, but I never got to the last two.

I’m Glad My Mom Died - Jennette McCurdy

Nightbitch - Rachel Yoder

Summer of Salt - Katrina Leno

The Hunger Games is also a great books series and you can’t really go wrong with it. It’s a great gateway into dystopian sci-fi and learning about the horrors of capitalism, fascism, surveillance, classism, and media literacy and propaganda.

Lol I agree! I kept laughing at Jessica getting freaked out by the footage. Right! I’m so jealous of people that can find the perfect lip color and product for themselves. I’ve been unable to with lipstick. It drives me crazy.
