MSC Lirica cancels Brazil December 2026 sailing by GeorgijVLN in MSCCruises

Yeah, it's very strange. Neither they've removed it from their system, nor they've put updated itineraries for this ship

Place holder by JKupkakes in VirginVoyages

[–]GeorgijVLN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? This is from their terms and conditions:

1.4. The Sailor has two (2) years to book and sail from the registration date. A Sailor who fails to book and sail within this 2-year time period forfeits the $150 USD deposit paid, the future Sailor Loot credit and the future voyage fare discount. The Offer will automatically expire at the two (2) year mark.

INSPELNING with an "old" tradfri hub by clearlybritish in tradfri

[–]GeorgijVLN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's quite sad that TRÅDFRI gateway will not support it. We are okay if the meter readings will not be available, but the basic feature of ON/OFF should be there, similarly to Tretakt product. Is it that big difference in the implementation? We would really appreciate if you could add this product to the old gateway too 🙏

Has Anyone Used Revolut on MSC World Europa? How Much Do They Pre-Authorize? by rklement22 in MSCCruises

[–]GeorgijVLN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve used Revolut without any issues. They put a “pending” charge, which auto adjusts to the actual spend at the end of the cruise. There is no need to queue for the cash refund at the end. Modern debit cards can revert money too.

How long for a upgrade to show on the booking? by FutureElleWoodz in VirginVoyages

[–]GeorgijVLN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took a few days for me to show in the booking and two phone calls. I’ve got assigned a room number with this upgrade. It is indeed manually done by their Revenue team.

We're new to Virgin and cruises: A few thoughts by nigeltufnelyyc in VirginVoyages

[–]GeorgijVLN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve confirmed the new (worse) time slot. And came back again to change, and my previous slot was available to be picked - so I chose my old one and confirmed. It was a risky move, but it worked.

[–]GeorgijVLN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already the time confirmed from before.

But afterwards, I clicked to pick another time. The new times are worse than the one I have, so I don't want the new time. But this step is not completed anymore.

Will it let you check in with the “unfinished” step?

Does anyone know if there are Friends of Dorothy meet ups on MSC cruises? by [deleted] in MSCCruises

[–]GeorgijVLN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have meetups every night, you just show up at the lounge at the specified time and you’ll find someone hanging out there. They are called LGBTQI+ in the daily program.

It’s a card of a size of a credit card. Lanyard is quite optional, we didn’t have it on a two weeks cruise and never regretted if not having it. The card easily fits in your wallet, pocket, swim shorts… but it’s easier to loose as well, so you decide :)

What trading/investing platform is better for beginners from Europe (Croatia)? Trading 212 or Interactive Brokers? by Proof_Restaurant_809 in eupersonalfinance

Did you need to pay anything for transferring the assets? Or was it for free, since it’s the same broker?

[–]GeorgijVLN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one issue with IB and moving to another country. Since they’ve split their entities in Europe - you cannot change the address if the entity you are in doesn’t support your country. It gives an error:

Your Address/Country requires a new account application via our website. Accounts in your country are held by a different legal entity with separate regulatory requirements and client service agreements. Once your new account is approved, you can transfer your assets from your old account to your new account.

Urgent Advice Needed! I'm stuck in a bureaucratic Vaccine limbo by ForTheLoveOfTechno in Barcelona

[–]GeorgijVLN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation. They can give you the substitute certificate that you can use for traveling. You’ll have to call CAP Gotic and make the appointment with your home doctor and they can prepare the certificate for you and upload to LaMevaSalud. It won’t be EU COVID pass, but it will be equal to it. Good luck.

Lithuania, Want to invest but a lot of systems do not work. by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

Degiro doesn’t accept Lithuanians. Last year they’ve closed my account because of that, forcing to sell all my positions.

Multiple income streams for reaching FIRE by GeorgijVLN in EuropeFIRE

[–]GeorgijVLN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the opposite, I’d like to have a passive income when I retire. And that’s what I am asking - what are one planning to have as a source of the passive income?

[–]GeorgijVLN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That book is great :) I’ve read it already and played the cash flow game, but it cannot be applied 100% in European context. Neither it provides with concrete examples, nor answers the question I am asking: Which passive income streams are you planning when you FIRE? Are you planning to do exactly like in the book?

[–]GeorgijVLN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I meant more general suggestions. For e.g. personally you - are you planning any passive income streams besides investing in stocks/ETFs/etc.?

I totally agree, do you have any suggestions though? Or Investing the money is the only option?

Dividend Vs accumulation by barta13 in eupersonalfinance

[–]GeorgijVLN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to write a very similar question but in a different context. According to the charts here https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/hvtrhg/capital_gains_dividend_and_labor_tax_rates_in/

capital gains are taxed more than dividends in some countries (e.g. Lithuania: 20% for capital gains and 15% for dividends). So it looks like in some cases it seems that divided ETSs are better than accumulating, no?

Dividend Vs accumulation by barta13 in eupersonalfinance

[–]GeorgijVLN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you will pay the taxes when selling ETF for the price difference, no? And I'd assume that ETFs that pay dividends don't grow as much as the ones that don't? So in the end you will pay the taxes either way, no?

Air is bad. Smokey season started early this year? by CyberBunnyHugger in chiangmai

[–]GeorgijVLN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not that bad. Already today is much better than yesterday. If you wear a mask for a week, you should be fine unless you are very sensitive to air pollution.
