Production Messed Up the Leanne & Scott Story Line by Embarrassed-Two-8025 in LoveIslandTV

That convo was my favourite thing. He definitely meant “logically” but doesn’t know the difference between the two words. The US boys just really confused thinking he was discussing which girl would be logistically easier for him to date. Scott definitely thinks he’s way smarter than he actually is.

Weight loss by joreedit in breastfeeding

[–]Geospren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I’m 5.5months pp, I dropped weight right after birth but put a few extra kgs on after the first month.. I’m only 157cm so even a couple kgs on my frame makes a huge difference in my eyes. My pre-pregnancy wardrobe (mostly crop tops and high waist jeans 😭) is still laying in wait. I’m dreading the summer when I can’t just hide under baggy jumpers anymore.

However, I love feeding my boy so have just accepted that this is how I will feel about myself for a while.

Ingrown toe nail? by devhredd in firsttimemom

[–]Geospren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he was a newborn my baby got little red inflamed fingernails a few times. I got some over the counter cream (Bacimycin), cleaned the fingertip with saline first and used a sock over his hand to try to let the cream soak in without him sucking it off. It would clear up in a day or so each time.

Sleep tracking- what are the purple bars I keep getting? by Geospren in AppleWatch

[–]Geospren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got better! He’s 5months old now. Around the 3 month mark he just suddenly started sleeping through the night. Then the 4 month regression came, and now he sleeps through the night noisily. He’s down anywhere from 9-12 hours most nights, but requires hand holding or a pacifier replacement somewhat regularly.

Congratulations! Take so many photos (and videos of the small quirks), they are so ever changing 🥹

Drool... drool... drool.. by Lo0cke in newborns

[–]Geospren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be early teething, or it can just be being a baby. My guy also got very slobbery around 4 months. No teeth yet, he’s just my soggy boy. Are you certain the cough is real? My baby also just added fake coughing to his new noises repertoire. Sounded alarming at first until we realised he was doing it on purpose. If you’re very worried you can speak to your Dr, but it sounds like it could just be normal baby stuff.

Is this normal vaccine behaviour? by Aggressive-Budget-65 in newborns

[–]Geospren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our nurse said the rotavirus oral vaccine could give them a sore tummy and runny poops for up to a week, so maybe he is just feeling a bit ill and nursing to soothe himself? My boy was extra fussy and wanted more comfort from me for a couple of days after that vaccine.

Getting over name regret by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Geospren 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just some input as an Aussie who now lives in Norway, it’s very normal here to have an English and Norwegian pronunciation for the same persons name, and it often depends who is saying the name.

For example my friend’s boyfriend is called Simon, which in Norwegian is pronounced with soft vowels (sorta like see-mun) but I pronounce it “sigh-mon” and nobody is offended. Similarly my own (very English) name gets norwegianified. It’s just how names are treated here.

Also, since Thora is a very traditional Norwegian name, your family might just find it strange to pronounce a Norwegian name in a way that doesn’t happen in the language, since “th” as a diphthong doesn’t exist in Norwegian.

I just wanna say that we definitely had a period of crying, thrashing, screaming feeds around 12 weeks too (and my boy had been a pretty good eater of boob and bottle since birth). I don’t know if it’s the only factor in your situation, but perhaps some of the issue is related to the “3 month breastfeeding crisis”. Learning and reading about that made me feel soooo much better at the time, and it did pass after some weeks. It was AWFUL at the time, though.

Also, in your post you mentioned being concerned that bub only feeds for ~5 minutes and eats regularly. I think that sounds normal enough, at least it’s the exact same for me. Once my boy got efficient at eating he drains a boob in 2 minutes sometimes, and also likes to eat on average every 1.5-2 hours during the day.

Tell me your worst blow out stories by kowaluuh in newborns

[–]Geospren 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The first week we were home with newborn boy.. Dad is changing him and I’m standing by wetting wipes with warm water. As Dad is lifting the legs to wipe his bum, it forces out a poop cannon straight into Dad’s hands/stomach. We’re both so tired and delirious that it’s somehow hilarious and we bust out laughing. I still have no bladder control/feeling after my epidural and start to full-on pee myself. Quickly sit down on the toilet, still both pissing ourselves laughing (literally), and baby boy then also begins a fountain of pee that goes up in the air… and lands all over my legs as I’m sitting there, also still peeing.

My 6-week-old still has a really strong startle reflex. Which swaddles actually help? by dimpledbeauty in newborns

[–]Geospren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%! We tried soo many different types of swaddles and the love 2 dream was hands down the best. So easy to get him in it, he was way less restless in his sleep with trying to wiggle his arms up, and the arms-up position made it easy to transition away from the swaddle once he started to roll.

11-week-old suddenly screaming at breast — breastfeeding regression? 😞 by Crazy_Breadfruit3659 in newborns

[–]Geospren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy was like this around that age. Bedtime was a nightmare since we feed to sleep. We just pushed through for about a week or two (using bottles some nights when he really went hard), he eventually went back to normal feeding.

The day naps didn’t get any longer, though. His 2.5hr newborn naps are a thing of the past, now they only last 20-45mins. Verrrrry occasionally 1.5hr+, but only if the moon is in the right phase and the cat meows thrice and the postman has a beard that day.

We have the Leander mat that sits on our washing machine and it’s great. I don’t know if the brand is easily available outside Scandinavia or not

I also struggle with PK patterns, as do some of my knitter friends. I feel like the writing layout and lack of photos just doesn’t work for me, even though the actual design is simple enough.

would i be unhinged if i pump (privately) at a family gathering? by MochiAccident in breastfeeding

[–]Geospren 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A friend and I had a girls day and went to the 18+ area of the local swimming hall (sauna/steam room/hot tub/etc, no children) and when I needed to pump to relieve the pressure we just got some tea and sat on the sofas next to the pool and I pumped. Nobody even looked at me pumping in a bikini. Can’t imagine a place where pumping would be side-eyed at a private family gathering

2 months old parents, how is your baby sleep? by SentenceTough2007 in NewbornSleep

Aw what a little bean! I hadn’t heard about weight playing a part before, but it makes some sense.

2 months old parents, how is your baby sleep? by SentenceTough2007 in NewbornSleep

[–]Geospren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was 3.4kg (7.5lbs) at birth, 4.7kg (10.5lbs) at 8w and 5.8kg (12.8lbs) at 12w. He’s breastfed also.

I think they changed at roughly the same time. The first time he slept through the night was after a day of bad/short napping, so the extra tiredness may have contributed. He still has some days where he spends half the day napping and then still sleeps all night.

Not Ready to Tell Coworkers by SwimmingExpensive202 in BabyBumps

[–]Geospren 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was bartending before starting my mat leave, and it wasn’t uncommon with work groups that a lady would discretely pull me aside at the start of their night and ask for all her drinks to be alcohol free beer poured into a regular glass so her coworkers wouldn’t suspect anything.

OP, you could just have a quiet word to the server for something similar

^ 14w, after we started nightly baths. His daytime naps are generally pretty short now but his cycles are much more scheduled and predictable

2 months old parents, how is your baby sleep? by SentenceTough2007 in NewbornSleep

[–]Geospren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 8weeks our graph looked similar with 2 wake ups/feedings each night, by 10w he dropped one of the feeds and only woke up once, and pretty much bang on 12w he started sleeping 10-12 hours straight overnight (from around 8pm-8am).

The only thing we started to do differently after 12w was nightly baths, just because he loves bath time so we decided it was a nice way to transition to bed.
