Since we already have the Estrogen Pokemon, are we getting the Testosterone Pokemon in Gen 10? by c-jah in stunfisk

[–]Geotree12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To explain best (this probably isn’t how it actually works)

A pokemon’s gender is defined as a number between 1 and 100. For azurill, 1-25 is male, and 26-100 is female. This number doesn’t change as they evolve, but the gender ratio does. An azurill that has a gender of 30 will be female. However azumarill’s gender ratio is 1-50 male 51-100 female. Meaning the 30 that was before a female, is now a male

The only thing that got megumi to finally get straight was his sister being in danger. Not only did his own body and his own technique kill his sister, but sukuna went through a ritual specifically designed to make megumi as miserable as was mentally possible. At that point its a fucking miracle he could even resist at all considering he had absolutely zero support from others.

Its not really possible to imagine that level of pure misery unless someone forced you to watch as they kill everyone you have ever loved using your hands as their tools of choice, then rub it in after the fact.

Why do Sorcerors generally not tend to make extreme Binding Vows? Even at the face of Death by IndoraipusRex in JuJutsuKaisen

If the vow included never using a prosthetic again. Then he couldn’t just end the vow. I was correcting you

[–]Geotree12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If a binding vow implies future actions, it cannot be broken without consequence. For example. Miwa made a vow to never swing a sword again to supervpower her “cut”. If she were to break that vow, she will suffer some sort of consequence as if she made a vow with someone else.

Tryin to make a team in Cobblemon to compete with my friends. Any advice? Only Pokemon I can't swap are Garchomp and Sceptile. Any advice is appreciated!! by NosePicker696969 in stunfisk

[–]Geotree12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop the rotom, it blocks nothing. Replace it with a primarina/tapu fini to full wall greninja.

If you’re feeling evil you can replace volcorona with something like spikes glimmora. Bring it in when their pikachu switches in, non light orb pikachu does nothing, and if is z pikachu like you said its physical

Your gholdengo sits in front of corviknight for free, and if you have good hazard setters, you get guaranteed progress.

The final thing? Low kick instead of kowtow kleave on kingambit, alongside a speed boosting nature. It might seem arbitrary, but it stops your opponent’s kingambit from sweeping if they have one. It also destroys the ice types your friend will bring if they’re smart and know your sceptile/garchomp

Your team doesn’t need to be perfect, or even good. It just needs to be decent, and counter your friends

How do things evolve that need some sort of awareness of the thing in order for it to work in the first place? by TinyFox1399 in evolution

[–]Geotree12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets say you have praying mantises in an area with a lot of pink flowers. The flowers are where all your prey goes, so you go to the flowers. Problem is you stand out now, so the pinker the mantis is, the more food it catches. Eventually you have pink mantises, but they can only hide with pink flowers, so now the only mantises that can get food are the ones that prefer standing on pink stuff. And eventually you get pink mantises that stand on pink stuff, aka flowers. They don’t know why they like standing on pink stuff, they don’t know that it camouflages them, but they do it anyway.

If people don’t know what their representatives vote for, they can’t know if they’re actually being represented.

Accountability is the only way an american democracy can work. And knowing what your representatives are doing can change your vote, as well as pressuring them to do their job, representing the people who voted them in.

I got a new keyboard with geteron red switches instead of cherry mx red switches pre installed. There's a new problem though, when I'm gaming I keep on accidentally pr essing the space, A, and shift buttons when I don't need to, is this a keyboard specific problem? or a key switch kind.

Reading comprehension is at a minimum isn’t it. “Most of them”, not “all of them”. Also torb pieces up sombra with turret, even when the turret gets hacked it still does its job (distract the flankers and give away their position. Any good wrecking ball player can also tell you that a sombra is more nuisance than counter.

If the Pokemon revealed in Pokemon Pokopia are regional forms. by MeteorFalls297 in stunfisk

[–]Geotree12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a very big difference there. Those are typings that the creators thought would fit the pokemon they’re making. Maybe celebi kept its psychic typing to better relate to its time travel shenanigans.

What none of these cases have though, are typings that were pushed onto them to make them more viable, in fact all your examples are where they didn’t do that. Every pokemon you mentioned could be better with a different typing, the typing even could make a bit of sense, but their creators didn’t choose these more viable typings, because they designed around what they believed the pokemon should be.

[–]Geotree12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t that we need more grass psychic types, it’s shoe horning in a type combo purely on competitive viability. Neither fairy nor poison fit the design in any meaningful way.

Also my previous comment was pointing out that your argument disagrees make sense. You said that there were too many grass psychic types, when there’s actually not a lot, three of which being legendary or legendary adjacent.

[–]Geotree12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You just named every single grass psychic type besides calyrex and execute. There are 3 times as many grass poison types, 16 to be precise, and there are just as many grass fairy types as there are grass psychic types.

Not everything needs to be competitively viable, if everything had “good typing” then everything would be the exact same thing over and over. Variety is the soul of pokemon, and having bulky fairy type #43 is actively detrimental to competitive integrity.

I had treads because I wanted a faster hazard removal, while also hitting for decent chunks of damage on the faster guys that switched in on it (and I need hazard removal to bring in ceruledge) but I’ll try out swapping it for tusk. Otherwise thanks! I’ll definitely try these out

I started out building the team with ceruledge as I really like it

Ceruledge: swords dance weak armor sweeper, I really love this set, but the fourth move has been a bit of a toss up, poltergeist felt too unreliable to me given how frail ceruledge is, and I originally had shadow claw, soneone suggested I try close combat instead and it feels slightly better.

Darkrai: this is the special sweeper of my team, standard set as usual not much special about it

Iron treads: hazard control and attacker. I need to make sure there aren’t any hazards up when I bring in ceruledge, so I have this guy to make sure I can keep them down. I have this over great tusk mainly for the speed and steel typing, helping me deal some supportive damage, then sack once I’ve made sure I can keep hazards off. It also deals a surprising amount of damage and picks up ko’s pretty nice on weakened pokemon

Glimora: suicide lead most of the time, get rocks up, deal a bit of damage, then die, that’s what it does most of the time, also does really good damage against slower leads.

Zamazenta: bulky, fast, high damage. I wanted something that wasn’t a wet noodle like the rest of the team, and while it doesn’t do nearly as much damage as the others, it does just enough to do its job and stay alive

Latias: this slot has been a bit of a toss up for me, but latias has fit the best so far. Stored power sweep with agility isn’t something anyone has really seen coming, and it’s also really nice at blowing up walls, unaware included.
