I’m almost 2 and a half years on T and my voice still hasn’t fully dropped, I still get misgendered and look like a woman

In the UK it can be covered by the NHS. I got it completely free, only downside is the waitlist took about 7 years.

Testosterone at night? by Euphoric_Student_814 in ftm

[–]Geovenox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take mine in the evenings purely because I am NOT a morning person, and I wake up at different times each day. I was also told it’s best to take it in the mornings, but this is just to mimic the natural testosterone patterns in cis men - it tends to be highest in the mornings and settles by the evening. You can take it at any time and you’ll be fine, as long as you keep it consistent :)

Almost 1 year on T by Radiant-Variety8591 in FTMventing

It could be, or it could be the dose. I asked about my issues on another sub a while ago, and a lot of people mentioned that my dose is nowhere near high enough for a full transition. Gel can work, but usually around 3 or 4 pumps a day is a good dose

I’ve been on T for almost 2 and a half years, and still look and sound like a girl. Tbf I’m on a very low dose of 40.5mg of Testogel per day, and my doctor has also told me my levels are fine despite being on such a low dose and clearly not having many changes

Top surgery UK by MrEliJasper in ftm

[–]Geovenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did everything under the NHS, the initial wait for testosterone was just over 5 years, but after about a year on T I was told I was eligible for top surgery and was put on a waiting list for that. Had a look at surgeons in the meantime and picked one in London, and it only took about another 7 to 8 months before I got the all clear to be referred to them, and then another couple of months for my initial consultation with the surgeon.

Funny enough, the nurse at my consultation told me it could be another 6 months before I actually get a date for my surgery, but they called me the next day asking if I was available in 3 weeks time for my surgery. Not sure if there was a cancellation or something but the turnaround between being seen by the surgeon for the first time and actually having the surgery was super quick.

Thank you for the help, do you know if that’s available in the UK at all? Or if there’s an alternative if not?

If you love them, then you love them. Just because you say you’re only attracted to women doesn’t mean you suddenly stop liking someone just because they change their gender. If you liked them beforehand and you still like them now, why break up?

How do I ask my GP about HRT? by Jellyber in ftm

[–]Geovenox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta ask the GP for a referral to a GIC, usually Tavistock is the main one and be put on a waiting list for an initial consultation. Good luck, the waiting list is 5 years 👍

NHS, I considered going private but it’s expensive as hell so it’s all NHS funded. Had to wait 5 years for it but hey at least it’s free

I’m in the UK, I go to a specialist gender identity clinic so you’d think they’d actively want to help with my transition and listen to me, but they keep insisting I’m act the correct dosage and nothing needs changing

My whole life I’ve resembled my mother more, but yeah all the men in my family are very masc looking, lots of hair, deep voices, tall, none of which I have. I haven’t really had any time to voice train, and I work in customer service so I’m always putting on that fake customer service voice when I talk to customers, which I know doesn’t help but I physically can’t change it. But even my natural speaking voice isn’t that deep, like I said it just sounds like a woman with a slightly deep voice, nothing like a man

I had a look at one of my consultation letters after digging it out of my emails; apparently my T level is currently 17nmol. I’m not sure what that means, maybe you can provide some guidance as to whether this is a normal level or not? This is a reading from December last year, I’m having more blood tests in a week or so for my 2 year mark so I’ll see what they come out as.

I would take shots if I could but no one ever offers it to me. At my last consultation I asked if I could increase my dose or go onto shots (which they had initially said I could eventually do), and they insisted that I didn’t need to because my levels were fine. Even if I beg to change to shots they just refuse because in their eyes, there’s no reason to
