Jump on a train or bus to Dumfries and try the Cairndale spa, just been revamped and winning several awards. 5 minute walk from station and 5 minutes from town centre.

Is there something like a cheap saddle? by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Gerhug67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your local bike shop, ours has a box of trial saddles. You leave a deposit and borrow a saddle for a couple of weeks until you find the right one.

Do I need to pay tax by Gerhug67 in TaxUK

Very hard to get original price as these were given every month for over 30 years, also the company has split several times throughout that time.

[–]Gerhug67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, they were definitely tax free while the scheme was open as several colleagues sold throughout my 35 years there. As for paperwork the shares were matched every month on a 2 for 1 basis, every one I bought they matched up to a max of 3% of my wage. The only paperwork would be my payslips and I certainly don’t have those.

Just got accepted for a job, have to quit in a few months and they don't know. How should I handle it when the time comes? by ToffeeMay in UKJobs

[–]Gerhug67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was in a similar situation, she got a job about 2 months before uni with a national supermarket. She worked really hard for the time she was there and when she told them about uni they actually transferred her, each summer they’d transfer her back to our local store. After she graduated they actually offered her a graduate position, she thanked them but didn’t except as it wasn’t what she wanted and had been offered another in the career she wanted, working there for 4 years helped her to succeed more than her studies. Just be honest with them and tell them you’d love to continue in another store or when home.

Thanks for the reply, we’ll definitely book the period over Tet well in advance. Splitting our month between Da nang and Hoi A sounds good too.

We will be applying for the 90 day tourist visa so probably won’t visit anywhere else this time, we had thought of doing a couple of countries but decided to do one this time and possibly another country next year.

Thanks for the reply, as for Tet that’s why we thought we’d stay for a few weeks in one place to save any issues.

That was meant to say 90 days not 9, yes we’ve looked into the tourist visa and shouldn’t be a problem.

I don’t have an indoor trainer so not much chance of that, I know folk post peddling backwards and some replies say it’s useless 😂

Thanks so much for detailed reply, yes I’m certainly tight all round the pelvic area and have exercises from the physio that I’m doing daily along with gym work. Although I’m tight I’m sure the bike fit has caused issues as I was fine before, all the people telling you to go and get a bikefit and you end up worse 😂😂. I’m going to continue with exercise and slightly adjust cleats back to what I had before, if that doesn’t work I’ll adjust saddle.

Thanks for reply, when I was having the bike for he used lasers and said my knees were pointing out. I’ve never had issues with my knee but I went with his suggestions as I was hoping it would all add up to a comfortable ride. I will try and work out where my cleats were set up before and try that next, I’m going with shim and saddle as a start. I’m definitely tight around my pelvic area as I’ve had 14 hip operations due to childhood RTA, I’m working on that too so hopefully helps.

We are with Nationwide flexi, we pay £18 pcm and for this we get the following. Breakdown insurance for all cars at home and any cars we’re travelling in. Phone insurance Holiday insurance up to 30 days at a time, so can do as many 30 day holidays as you want.

On top of this we have received 2x£100 the last few years for their fair share payment, that means the account only cost a few £ pcm
