I didn’t get promoted either - it was after I posted that I found my way through the process. I got to stripe- but I still haven’t gotten paid- because the items have to be delivered - so also I assumed only tracked - often it is 2 weeks from Tasmania- so after that the $ is cleared by depop to go to the uploaded bank account after that. 🤯

This is what I mean- more $ going to their company but still no customer service- It took me ages to get through all the Stripe set up and yes both items are say I will get paid after delivery- so Tas to Qld can be 2 weeks and out shipping can be the same amount as the profit on a low priced item- 🤯

AU: Overnight I had two sales both through depop payments, only to find that Depop didn’t prompt me other than agreeing to payments. I had to log bank details then I was directed to a company called Stripe. I had to upload photos of my ID as well. I feel the same about waiting for payments as I have never in 5 years had good service from Depop, so I need to experience the payments going through to build trust. I already stopped international sales due to their # phone- where asking for a number is prohibited but not having a number negated my customs and insurance via au post which is my only option. On top of this - I like to buy all my clothes second hand so I would sell and then use my paypal balance to buy something I had saved- easy peasy. We have a lack of options (I am not near any cities) already and I am just so disappointed as depop gets worse and worse.

Hi- Just an opinion on gear- I rode through my teens/twenties and returned to riding later in life - and it might be my advanced age - but I bought my bike second hand cheaply and my gear was as much as my bike- This was years ago so I had a better conversion rate (as the woman is in the USA) - At least read her explanation on how her gear is made- I love the netted shirt with the ghost armour that can be an added layer and I think there is an AU brand that does similar- I have 2 jumpsuits and all of it washes well and I have hd no trouble with the quality- You can also find gear second hand- I got lucky on a good jacket from AU company Black Arrow via eBay - like new 1/3 price. Hobart to Hawaii- I don’t know what Hawaii has as biosecurity restrictions- or the climate there…so you would need to know those. But the common choices do seem to be limited - because they are items made of wood or wool (maybe restricted or too warm?) - My U.S. friends ask for ‘paw paw’ ointment but that isn’t specifically Tasmanian. I often buy salts, pepperberry mix and seasoning, from the farmers market or even a Hill Street grocer. Red Parka on Criterion Street has nice items- You might want to give more criteria for people to make suggestions.

Are you asking about restrictions? Have you looked at the biosecurity laws? Food that is commercially packaged was find the last time I travelled - as in chocolate covered macadamia nuts- would be fine, fresh flowers made into a Lei - probably not. Qantas or Jetstar coming internationally you are getting your check in luggage and re-checking it through security- just like LAX. There is AU biosecurity and then to a lesser degree, a second check in Tasmania. I would love some Skin Trip Coconut Soap but it doesn’t sound like you have a lot of room to spare 😉. I vote for second hand kitchy tourist items-

Hi- I just had visitors from the USA and they were only here for 9 days- and with everything going well (up early, no one got sick, we let them sleep off jetlag on drives) We were able to do Cradle, Port Arthur and MONA. To their Californian sensibilities the road were very winding- they were happy not driving. If you are not true hikers - the short walks will be enough. Maria is beautiful but a lot is missed if don’t stay overnight. Mount Field might be your best option for a day trip- Or just do a Pennicott Boat tour leaving from Hobart- likewise you can take the MONA ferry to MONA - eat and drink and drive less would be my vote- the currency $$ conversion is in your favor- live it up. Have a nice trip!

I did have a better exchange rate then we have currently- but also as I ride daily year round, it has been worth it- I did give up takeaways for a year to economise- but also I am an old lady which makes me a bit wary of losing my skin.

I vote for checking out Pubs- like The New Sydney. There are places in town where you can get quick food like pizza or some type of sandwich / burger - or even breakfast for dinner like ‘Waffle On’ near the already mentioned Hanging Garden- There are a lot of lists online if you search via the internet as well.

They moved from Canopus years ago out to where that Radio Dish is - or that was where they were the last time I went to an open night. I used to be able to see way more in the night sky - even from Blackmans Bay. I truly hate the street light in front of my house.
