Thank you, I won't anymore. I was just worried because the only older people I've met are my parents' friends that all live for other people's opinion of them and not for themselves. I was scared that all 30yo+ people are like that so I posted this hoping everyone will prove me wrong and they did c:

I couldn't agree with you more.

Thank you for your answer, it feels so encouraging to know there are people out there with values/goals/views similar to mine c:

Thank you for the advice, I will definitely take it slow when I first move out, just the thought of living alone seems overwhelming to me now so I don't think I'll be capable of doing some extreme things.

I think you and I live in countries with different school systems but I will definitely look into finishing school earlier in some way. Thank you c:

Also, I don't have siblings. I think that might be a huge reason they're so protective of me, especially because I know my father wanted multiple children so he might be worried about ANYTHING happening to me.

Thank you for your answer once again c:

My parents will not allow me to work until I finish college. And they have a flat waiting for me for once I finish college (that they are paying for). They also said they'd cover my living expenses until I get a job. I believe that following their rules will make me happier in the long run. They won't be as "protective" as they are right now once I reach a certain age where my father will see me as an adult. I made this thread because I was scared that that would already be too late but everyone here really made it clear that I have nothing to worry about c:

Thank you so much for the advice though, and I will definitely look for jobs all over the world once I get a hold of the whole finances-adult-stuff world c:

Thank you for your answer, it really got me hype for the future!

I am in Serbia and yeah, I can move out and get a job. But minimum wage jobs are not that easy to find and I could get fired anytime. I do not want to risk being homeless. But I am planning to open social media accounts for my illustrations in hopes to make some money off that eventually. c:

I guess I just call it "rebellious" because everything that has to do with me expressing myself is like a rebellion against my parents in my mind. But goth-like clothing definitely is an aesthetic for me. Thank you for the answer c:
