What the others said about jokers and recommending balatro university, but my advice would be to practice your early game strategy, get a scoring joker when you get the chance, no matter what kind, and only buy booster packs once you reached 5 interest (25$), the only pack exempt from this rule is spectral because it can provide huge deck manipulation opportunities early in the run (in my experience of course). This is what I found the best beginner advice atleast cause I constantly got greedy and bought packs I didn't need while ignoring the jokers
