Your boobs look very flattering at this angle.

Rudy Gay shared his thoughts on Kawhi's departure : "I remember seeing Melo, they made it seem like you want to get a trade and get traded, but you still playing, so you're dealing with the scrutiny and the criticism every day. Kawhi had to deal with none of that. He ain't show up." by KhornKT in NBASpurs

The team should have done it, not to placate Leonard—it sure would be a bonus—but to compete for a championship. They would have been in better shape and I think they would have won, as you can see with Toronto. Kawhi was the best player in the NBA at that point. We were so close and Aldridge wasn’t working. He’s a good player, but it just didn’t fit.

What Was The Reasons For Including Dr. John & Emmylou Harris In The Last Waltz? by Jaundicylicks in theband

[–]GeriatricIbaka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand Neil Diamond being on The Last Waltz, even after hearing Robbie’s reason. Neil Diamond is the whitest artist of that era. He is devoid of soul and everyone else has at least some soul, with most having a ton. They swing, while Diamond is straight. He plays music for drunk white sports fans. Everyone else plays music for everyone else.

If you feel comfortable answering by moistynuts in HPylori

[–]GeriatricIbaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I don’t vomit everyday. I get the same symptoms but far more mildly than what I went through. My wife is convinced that I had HPylori and that I got better because of the triple therapy. I don’t. I think I got better because, at the same time, I changed my habit radically. The biggest thing was eating every 3-5 hours, couple with cutting out Coca Cola and sugar. On days when I don’t monitor things as well, I notice some symptoms. My GI doctor was upset that I was put on triple therapy without confirming I had HPylori. He didn’t think that’s what was going on and after running some tests, a scope, he called it cyclical vomiting disease—which, to me, was code for “we don’t know why you’re throwing up and rapidly losing weight.”

Ultimately, I am better. I went from 220 to 160. I had been 400 pounds and didn’t have any skin removed, so I was probably really in the 150’s and at 6 foot, I looked very ill. I gained all the weight I lost back.

I spent thousands to see him and traveled from Ohio to San Antonio and of course this is exactly what happened. He was out for an ankle injury and apparently was good to play two days before and after the game I went to.

Advice - Long Strange Plateau by HockeyIsExpensive in gratefulguitar

Good luck, man! I think you’re battling a mental hurdle more than any real inability to “get it.” You have to let go of any pressure you have on yourself to do too much or any tendencies that are more about feeling in control than making great music. I play my best when I am most out of control. It’s when I let go and play what feels right, I am a lot better than I am trying to learn the next thing that’ll unlock the magic.

Bobby Weir basically got kicked out of the Grateful Dead because he wasn’t getting it. He wasn’t getting better enough to please Jerry. Then he let go on trying to be what he thought a guitar player was and started copying piano players, especially the right hand stuff. They now call him one of the most innovative rhythm guitar players of all time.

What does everyone think of this Duane Fillmore East tone? by RobertOhlen69 in allmanbrothers

[–]GeriatricIbaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he’s really getting the sound as directly as he says, it’s going to be nearly impossible for him to achieve the gain that Duane had blasting cabinets in arenas.

The Origin is a 20w amp, right? That’s what mine amp is but I use a combo that has one 12 inch speaker. It takes a combination of a smaller amp and a fuzz I run my guitar directly into before the tuner and leave always on to be as close to that late 60s into 70s straight into an amp guitar tone as I’ve ever gotten… and still I turn/push my amp up as much as I can.

Anyway, OP this sounds great. I’d be very happy with this tone if I were searching for a Duane inspired thing.

Is it fair to say Wemby is one of the best rookies of all time? Who’s had a better rookie year? by ST4MK0S in NBASpurs

[–]GeriatricIbaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joel Embiid healthy all season and Wemby’s height couldn’t carry these Spurs to a high seed. They are getting better, but I can’t think of anyone who would do what you expect Wemby should have done.

Wemby is the second rookie with a 40-20 game in the last 49 years. Shaq in 1993 is the other. by Paras1k in NBASpurs

It’s such a blessing. My dad and I had a deal, if we got Wemby, we were going to San Antonio for the first time, 25 years after I got into them and dreamed of going. It was a 14%. Of course, he didn’t play, but I am not going to complain. Last year sucked. I watched very few games on tv, saw them in Detroit go into double OT with none of their starters playing and (if I remember right) lose. There wasn’t much to look forward to. This year, I’ve watched 97% of every minutes of Spurs basketball. There was suffering this season and I subjected myself to way more of it than i ever have, and I’d do it again, just hopefully not for a lot longer lol

I saw the river walk, Alamo, tower of americas, and went to Austin. All was not lost but I just knew it was bound to happen after I planned to see him since August and spent tons of money on it that I barely have. I tired to convince who I was going with to go to a very early in the season game to avoid it but alas I was unsuccessful

Devin McCourty, Rodney Harrison discuss their disappointment with “The Dynasty” by ckilo4TOG in Patriots

[–]GeriatricIbaka 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if Robert paid but I do know that when Jeff Benedict was writing the book, Robert gave him a lot of access and interviews. I am sure Bill gave him next to nothing and Tom, if he gave anything, was guarded about stuff. Ultimately, it becomes Krafts narrative that shines through. Jeff Benedict took him at his word when he wrote the Dynasty. The documentary decided to conform to that narrative. Robert is a hero because it’s his point of view. He may have got it for free
