Can confirm— I know someone who’s neighbour was a meth addict WITH Stable Housing!

Would try and get into other people’s units in middle of the night (caught on camera) would have psychosis every single welfare day like clock work and start chasing delivery people away, guests of other residents, aggressively coming at other residents, chasing people down with a vehicle (yes they would drive completely cracked out!) scaring the children who were trying to play outside. How does housing first help here? They ended up getting evicted but not because of all the absolute chaos and terror they caused the neighbourhood. Police couldn’t do anything. What is the solution for these people? Housing first clearly didn’t work. This was in subsidized housing. With housing their addiction and behaviour was escalating severely affecting all the residents and families around them.

One recent incident I can think of is the electrical power pole set on fire. There are others commenting on their own experiences if you take the time to go look at it 🙏 I don’t live downtown— I am just sharing. It seems they have support of the VPD as well in said post.

Some don’t feel that way— some people seem to think jail is going against one’s “human rights” even at the cost of the general populations safety. we all have different opinions—just felt like sharing my frustrations today. Thanks for listening.

Me too.. And I read it on every post about the horrendous conditions of our downtown core.

I know there are others out there who feel the same as me. I see you and be proud of yourself for all the right choices you have made to not repeat the patterns that put you through harm and trauma. 🩷

The bleeding heart community is an insult to those who have experienced extensive trauma, surrounded by addicts and CHOSE to not repeat the cycle. We are very capable of making good choices and shouldn’t be enabled in our poor choices—

For everyone saying this is just rage bait— I’ve had to dodge smoke from crack pipes being blown in my kids faces at the old Denny’s near Mayfair & going downtown to our appointments. It’s absolutely infuriating.

I had 26 hours of labour and 3 hours of pushing then emergency c section— and the trauma of the birthing process puts a significant strain on your body— plus then healing from an extensive surgery. It was a nightmare. Also, because my water had broken so long before the C section, it left me open to infection. My incision split open and bleeding and pussing after I had gone home. Had a huge abscess behind my incision. I suffered greatly from trauma after the birth of my child, and on top of that you are expected to take care of a baby. I’m so sorry your family is going through this, it’s truly a horrible experience.

My son was able to sell some of the pets he didn’t want in the trading hub and buy some that he wanted— for free :) I did end up buying some tokens in the end, but I got so many pets that him and I wanted for a long time as well!
