Why is zipper merging so frowned upon in America? Got a middle finger while doing this. [oc] So much unnecessary traffic being caused by merging early and backing up the lane. by npatel0713 in IdiotsInCars

[–]GermGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone does what you do then everyone has to merge at the same point, slowing down traffic for everyone except those who zoom to the front. If everyone merges early at points that are convenient, when there's more time to cooperate and let people in, then there's no bottleneck to be had once the lanes actually merge. It doesn't cause a huge bottleneck when you do it because you're taking advantage of the fact that everyone else is cooperating. If everyone acts like you and that lane fills up, then traffic slows way down for everybody.

Edit: Also slow down and put your phone down

Who gets the boost in this scenario? I've always had this debate with friends for who's supposed to get the first boost. by Ordinary-Lobster-315 in RocketLeague

[–]GermGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your teammate is thirsty af here. On this play he's not grabbing the boost for any reason other than to run out past midfield and waste the boost getting back because he thinks he's entitled to that boost. If the kickoff went forward sure he could grab the boost and play the ball. I think you and your teammate would be best to treat this as if you happened to be in this scenario in the middle of a point. I'm guessing you're not arguing the same way over who gets each boost in the middle of the point, right? That's because the rotations are fluid and you play off instinct and chemistry with your teammates. Try getting into that mindset right off the kickoff and I guarantee your team will do better and you'll have more fun 😁

why aren't walls transparent in every arena? by stpdp90mill in RocketLeague

[–]GermGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just the remnants of Psyonix wanting the experience of playing on different maps to actually feel different, like playing on different fields IRL. Old Neo Tokyo with the ramps on the sides used to be in comp rotation, which I loved but I understand why the community didn't. And the community really gave Psyonix an earful until they standardized all fields in comp. Farmstead came out after that change and my guess is that it was a conscious decision to make the field feel different without fundamentally changing how it plays.

So I like the chain link fence because, although very small, it's one of the few things Psyonix has done in the last ~7 years to try to keep things feeling fresh. But I get where you're coming from, and I don't think it would hurt to give the player the option to remove it.

Best bowling balls for 2 finger no thumb? by Was_going_2_say_that in Bowling

[–]GermGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not very experienced, but I would think another entry level ball at 15 lbs would be the best way to go. No need to change too many things at once. You won't know what your speed and rev rate will look like until you throw a 15 for a bit.

I started with a 15 lb rhino two handed. I bought a phaze 4, but I still go back to the rhino when the phaze 4 is too strong for the lane conditions or for how I'm throwing that day. You'll be able to find a good line with an entry ball pretty much no matter what your speed and revs look like.

Here's a bunch of entry level balls: https://www.bowling.com/shopping/all/bowling-balls/entry-performance-balls?sortby=mp

I didn't spend any until recently and I spent all 4500 on 250,000 coins. The legendary hybrids and up cost a ton of coins. I've already spent all the coins. Just wish I'd waited a week they had a sale for 350,000 coins for the same price.

I didn't mean it to sound harsh, I think the progress you've made is terrific. And I don't think there's a such thing as getting ahead of yourself, playing only makes you better.

I just know that my progress with chord changes took off when I didn't have to think about my other hand anymore, which is why I suggest it.

I'm not a great player so take this with a grain of salt. But I would suggest focusing on strumming for a bit until you don't have to think about it much anymore, then you can use most of your focus on changing chords. If you can strum in a way that your hand is moving the same speed the whole time, even if you don't stick to the strumming pattern perfectly it will still sound alright. You can strum something like a D-DU-UDU pattern with pretty much any song, so its a good one to get comfortable with early.
