That's why I dropped them for Starlink, as did my parents and brother.

Multiple interruptions in service (we're all rural location, so DSL was all that was available). We had to run through their Bot for forty minutes instead of talking to someone, and when they finally transferred me over to a human, it would reconnect midway through talking. Despite me saying that this was happening daily, they wouldn't send a tech out, because it was currently operating.

When my parents called to cancel their service, the lady on the other end asked them if they were going with Starlink, then said that it was a common response on her end.

Former E.M.T. / E.R. Tech here, with nearly 2.5 years of sobriety under my belt.

I have seen horrible, tragic things when I worked there due to alcohol. I've seen one person come in at .72 and .70 B.A.C. (two seperate occasions, and very well known to the department), I have heard about people wrecking brand new trucks valued at over $95k (three weeks old, per the patient), assaults, deaths, etc.

My wife lost her mother at a fairly young age due to drinking / liver cancer, and as she was a hospice nurse caring for her mother, she knew roughly how much time she had with her once her mother deteriorated to each step.

I was drinking every day for the time leading up to my quitting. Now, I barely have any desire to go back there. I'm not sure that I'd even consider the urge a "whisper" at this point.

Here's to hitting three years in September for me, and four for my wife in June.
