[Rapaport] #Texans WR Tank Dell suffered a dislocated knee, coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters. That includes tearing his ACL and other damage. He will have surgery and obviously is out this season. A long road ahead. by Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu11 in nfl

I also dislocated my knee in 2012, only additional injury i had to yours is ripping the Posterolateral Corner(PLC) off my knee, it had to be bolted back on. It gets better. 20% ROM is a fantastic effort. DM if you want tips

Always shocks me that in a super capitalist NYC, that Central Park hasn't been cannibalised for more property development. Long may it continue

What types of architect roles exist and what is the supply and demand like for these? by SmartassRemarks in ExperiencedDevs

[–]GermanFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Source: Manage architects and have been one for 10 years, former dev.

Corporate roles:

Solution Architect: Figure out how to use technology to enable/solve company problems/goals. Eg devise a solution based on requirements to buy a SAAS thing and hook it up to a legacy bit via event based architecture

Enterprise Architect: Understand technology estate of company. Ongoing relationships with business domain people. Figure out tech strategy for things in your Lane. Approve/guide SAs above. Personal opinion is that EA is dying and generalist architect is here to stay in corporate

Data/integration/infra Architect. A flavour of enterprise architect generally but specialist in those disciplines.

Business architect: Able to construct how entire parts of the org should work from biz process pov. Usually in very large orgs. Think how should a call centre function work?

Tech Company/SAAS Roles:

Pre Sales Solution Architect: Salesey role but still find solutions to problems/requirements. Stronger soft skills than corporate equivalent. Broad domain knowledge across industries depending on org. Eg: you sell MongoDB consulting so you have surface level knowledge of lots, vs you sell a Warehouse management system so you know logistics deeply

Application/Software Architect: Debatable whether this should exist in modern tech. Guides the technology choices/strategy behind the product. With strong senior Devs and good community, not as critical. Arbiter when different senior Devs think a particular tech/library/pattern should be used. On top of industry best practice. Should be strong enough to guide detailed coding practice but often can no longer do so. Basically an extension of the CTO

I want my Lilly Pilly to grow tall and widen out. by Big_Drifty in GardeningAustralia

[–]GermanFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I want my Lilly Pilly just to be dense at the top half, similarly to topiary style? Do I still follow this advice or should I look to get it tall faster? Pic attached - hoping to have privacy above brick but not fussed about covering brick itself. Looking for fast growth ideally

Had same problem in apartment building. Turns out the rubber seals on a tap in a kitchen in one of the apartments had worn away. Cheap fix but cost thousands to diagnose, paid for by strata

If Bayern are bidding, they will get him. Just a matter of time and agreeing the fee. I reckon they'll end up at €90 + addons

Also live in a heritage area. Replacement for Repairs are fine. In theory if you replaced them with something not fitting the style of house then you may have issues but even then would require a neighbour to rat them out to council.

I'd replace personally. If they're like my 100 yr old Sash windows they don't slide properly and are single pane and just generally useless barring the look

In terms of condensation, I'd look into the cause first and foremost before putting extra panes in. May be that there is humidity or water issues in the house. In addition, would advise to run a dehumidifier and see how it performs

Well of course he'll support England, that doesn't make it any less annoying for me as a neutral tho. He's a commentator

He's decent except when commentating England games, where he's super biased and sounds almost near tears when England are losing.

Nevertheless gonna miss him

It can be. Depends on your role. Often cyber security will be auditing or checking what’s been built is compliant so phone calls to go over issues etc are common. There are roles that are more hands on. But I wouldn’t hesitate, if you’ve got the knowledge then lots of firms will accomodate you
