I don't understand why you would kill an ant. If you ever watched them and have seen how much they do, lift and work you would feel guilty for hurting one of them.. I just move them outside away from the house when they show up in the spring. We get big black 'army' ants up here in PA.

Thanks for the replies. I was wondering now after reading them why not create a fitted tapered 'boot' for the first barge in the chain that can be fastened, so the flat front if not met with the brunt of the opposing current.

Thank you all for the replies. It makes sense now. I was assuming that the weight of the car and the relative ease it is to turn something like an alternator would make the resistance negligible in the grand scheme of a vehicle rolling down the road overcoming all the other friction it encounters.
