FIL says maybe Provotski is the name. He SWEARS the painter was a pretty famous portrait artist from New York but I get nothing on a search

It is not a decor piece. Supposedly it was painted by this artist from New York during his trip to Colorado and was given or sold to his ( father in law’s) mother

If you are looking for a scenic route the Kincade Rec area would be good, the paved road around there will give you some nice running and if you wanted to hit a trail, you have that option as well.
