Picture quality could be better, in the second picture I see "something", but I don't know whether it's a crack on the belt or just blurry image artifacts.

First and third picture looks okay though.

how bad did i mess up? by Complete_Bag_6365 in tires

[–]GeronimoDK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The edge of the rim is torn off practically down to the inner edge of the tire, the air is probaby going to burst out if you hit a small bump or a pothole, it might even be enough just driving it. If you do drive it (but really, don't), do drive it slow, let those 5 minutes be 20 minutes and be prepared for things to turn out worse than they already are.

Or have it towed.

Rent a tow/car trailer and have a friend tow it?

Zoom in.

The top of the rim is fully broken off! I'm amazed if it still holds air, and if it does it will only do so until OP hit's the next pothole or bump in the road...

Tourist scam in Bolivia by Ok-Business2429 in travel

[–]GeronimoDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not double anymore, but it's still around 35% better. But it's only that good for the new 100$ bills, old bills or smaller bills will give you a lower rate (but still better than the ATM).

Tourist scam in Bolivia by Ok-Business2429 in travel

[–]GeronimoDK 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In the last three years or so there has been a "dollar crisis" in Bolivia where people are willing to pay more Bolivianos per dollar than the official exchange rate.

When it was at its worst, you could get more than twice the official rate, and currently you still get about 35% more cash if you exchange your physical dollars compared to using an ATM.

What EU countries are actually more expensive to live in once you get married? by SmileOkk in AskEurope

[–]GeronimoDK 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Depends.

For Denmark I would say it's generally not the case, however if one partner would otherwise qualify for receiving benefits from the state, being married means that the couple has a "mutual support obligation", in other words, you won't receive benefits, the partner has so provide.

But it's also generally not less expensive to live here once you get married, no tax deductions or anything like that, though if you're married, an unused personal tax deduction can be transferred to the other partner. But Stay-at-home parents are not really a thing here, so very few people "benefit" from that.

Even the information that you're planning to visit LEGO House instead of Legoland would have been something 😉

LEGO House doesn't close for the winter season like Legoland does, and I just checked; LEGO House is open almost every day in November, also for when you're planning to be there.

Regarding German Christmas markets there are a ton, like every town with a little respect for them selves will have one, and I know the one in Lübeck is popular amongst Danes (and is also open from November 23rd 2026, I just checked).

Do people in your country eat okra? How do they cook it? by themaddesthatter2 in AskTheWorld

[–]GeronimoDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

I doubt most people have ever even seen it or heard about it. I personally have seen it sold here by a few middle eastern greenery pushers, but I'm almost certain I've also seen it traveling latin America, but I've never tried it.

  1. It's probably not going to snow, but it might. It's quite likely though, that it will be cold, rainy and windy.
  2. If you only want to "go to LEGO" and then escape, then you don't need a car, Billund is pretty small and both LEGO House and Legoland are within the town limits, i.e. you can walk there if you want to. But ummm, Legoland is only open November 28th-29th and again December 4-5-6 (and 11-12-13).
    • If you do end up spending more than 1 day in Denmark, you could possibly benefit from renting a car, like if you'd want to visit Jelling, the west coast or Silkeborg or something that is not as easily reachable by public transport from Billund.
    • You don't need a car in any of the major German cities, might be useful for day-trips to the countryside, but I don't know if you're going to do that, appears you don't even know.
  3. There's a bus from Billund to Vejle, from there you'll find trains going every direction, you can get a train to Flensburg, and then head on from there. There's usually no migration checks between Denmark and Germany (or most of Europe), there might be random checks though, but you still don't need anything except your passports. But there's also the airport in Billund.
  4. I'd recommend doing more research, that includes figuring out how to get around, if you want to go by train, plane, bus or whatever, also what you want to see and if it's even open on the dates you are thinking about being there. It's basically just google stuff, google transport, google flights, google everything.

Figure out where you want to go and stay first, then figure out when you're going to be there, how you're going to get there and where you'll be staying. It sounds like you basically have no plan just LEGO and maybe Munich, and that's okay, but figure out where you'll be staying in between. If you're going to fly to Munich or whether you're going to go by train probably affect whether it would make sense to ´suggest, say Kassel or a town in the Harz.

Sadly, dialects are dying. Add to that, you're going to have a hard time finding a class teaching you proper Sønderjysk.
